Returning player issues

Hey guys,

I received an email from EVE a few months back. It allowed me to log in and update a few things after I would say a 7-8 year break from the game. A heap had changed but my characters were still there and I thought I would leave it there for a few months whilst I settle in a new country IRL.

A few days ago I go to log in and start playing with a friend. But it seems all my characters names have been changed to "Caldari Citizen 812398906" etc. And once I got some help from support I logged in to find all my assets are gone. But even worse was that my skills are really screwed up. Some don't even make sense.

E.g with this Character Caldari Citizen 812398906 I was flying a Drake. Now I don't even have the skills to fly a destroyer. Yet there are some strange things like I have Gunnery Lvl5 and Small Hybrid Turret Lvl5. I never used guns on this Character.
I did have a small amount of unallocated skills. About 35,000. But nowhere near enough to fly a Drake.

It is the same on my two main characters. Nowhere near able to fly what I was once able to.

And why did I lose my character names after like 10 years just in the last two months??

Any help or direction appreciated.

the support system have all the answers you are looking for.
ask them about all this problems.

the only thing about your nick name is that it was modified due to a nick not conform to the rules.

Doc would theorize that your character names were considered to be offensive in some way.

You are not going to find any meaningful answers here, all you can do is open a ticket, ask your questions and wait for CCP to respond.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their me.

Names were Maximus Drift and Maximus Slide I am pretty sure. Not offensive.
I thought they might have got caught up in the big Trial Account wipe. Maybe I was gone too long.

Will open another ticket.

CCP renamed characters that didn't log in for ages to free up their names.

Just petition it to get your name changed.

Please open a support ticket here and one of our GMs can take a look to see what might have happened.

Renaming characters only happened to trial accounts, given what he stated that's really not the issue here. I DO remember a database issue from several years ago where a problem like this was one of the known issues. It's either that or you reactivated the wrong account and you're now on some old trial that you trained some random stuff on.

Looks like you have to listen to CCP Darwin and talk with GMs about this. Nothing else will help in that situation.

Sorry to hear about your issues, definitely sux. Hopefully it all gets sorted out very quickly.

Other than that, welcome back to Eve and yeah, this game has gone through some major changes recently. It's nowhere near like how it use to be.

May you have a long and rewarding career here this time around.
