When are we going to get new in-game music?

I'm tempted to answer (in imitation of the CQ/WiS haters):

Eve is about flying in space! It's not "Jukebox listening in space"! Adding new music does not fix any old bugs, and does not add relevant content to EVE!!!1111eleveneleven

Well, of course this is not my real opinion.
One or two new tracks would be nice (but not necessary).

Anyway .. as others already stated: You are able to create your own play lists for the EVE internal music player with any music you already have. May i suggest some older tracks from Jean Michel Jarre - for example? Smile

I loved the old themes, the trinity theme was frickin epic! I have to support the "make your own" playlist though, I feel it was put in so that CCP didn't have to focus resources on updating the music.

love solar fields but a lot of his work I think may be too upbeat for Eve; except for maybe battle scenes.

I'd like the 'create your own playlist' option updated a bit. Save and store multiple playlists, and have some playlists trigger when certain things happen in-game.

For example, I'd like a 'PvP' playlist that automatically kicks in when someone redboxes me or vice versa. That'd kick the music customization up a notch.

I agree I would like to see more Eve styled music.. please though, more on the early analog electronic New Age/Soundtracky tip (y'know Klaus Scultze, John Carpenter Etc). Please remove the battle songs with the dated Drum & Bass beats and those terrible vocal samples.. The one where someone keeps talking about how they said jump... and the terrible guitar samples..

I suggest playing any zerg theme from starcraft anytime you redbox a member of the caldari militia Big smile

This was a complicated process before, IIRC. Not sure if eve has made it easier to do this with an 'import mp3' function. but if they have it would be nice for someone to shed some light.

Apparently, the genre most of EVE's music belongs to is called "ambient downtempo."

I'm mentioning that because it might help some of you find more space music. Personally, I just loop Below the Asteroids endlessly.

The music in Eve needs a total overhaul, may i suggest the fantastic Jeremy Soule over haul it. Eve is a epic game that needs a fantastic soundtrack, not lame electronic noise from the 1990's. Jeremy did the soundtrack for Skyrim and the upcoming epic release of Guild wars 2. Big smile

What's the point of them dumping money into music production?

You can add whatever you want to your jukebox.

Music is as bad, if not worse cause more ppl care.. than a political landscape. Whatever style they focus on producing and add.. would get burned and trolled in threadnaughts. Better off letting people troll themselves by making it their choice on what to put in the jukebox.

I wouldn't mind if they did.. but I'm on the side of rather letting them put those resources somewhere else.

Cause all that money spent on voice over work really helped TOR...

What I really, really, really, really, REALLY *******..

Wish they'd do is hold a music competition for ppl like myself to enter works in. Take the tracks and let the EVE playerbase vote for 1-3 prize winners.. as well as handful more that will be implemented into the game. Have the winner's song featured on a trailer or something. The sandbox MMO so heavily influenced by players.. with music created by the players. Oh well.. I can dream.

I like how you can add your own tracks, but I'd also like to see more music from New Eden.

What would be really cool is an itunes-like service within the NEX. Use aurum to buy songs that immediately go into your playlist. CCP could have some "Recommended Tracks" that sound particularly EVE-ey.

This is in ADDITION to the functionality we have now, of course.

Edit: Also, +1 to the redbox playlist idea. get some Eye of the Tiger kickin in every time I jump into a gatecamp lolol
