Bumping is not the issue either.

Its about the EVE community being able to retaliate. CCP makes all these changes to ehp, bumping, and whatever else and its a mistake.

The player base needs to be given the game mechanics to deal damage to the gankers. Its a simple concept, but the only person who seems to have the mental capacity to grasp it is Khan Wrenth post #7 on the first page of this thread.

But you inherently DO want suicide ganking to be more difficult. Stopping people from docking in stations and proposing changes that allow shooting empty ships free of charge as the expression goes are absolutely aimed at making ganking more difficult, and have a load of other consequences you haven't considered, such as the tournament stagings and people who have negative sec from low sec PVP(Since Eve doesn't have a foolproof way of discerning who's with a fleet and should be a viable target and who isn't in all cases, though suspect and limited engagement are a lot better than were, they still need refined), completely unrelated to ganking. Then you've got the whole aspect of it's a game, people come and go and when they come and go they don't always want to do the same thing but have characters that did this or that so have this or that or whatever.

I don't disagree that ganking is very lucrative. But that is often as much the fault of the target as the ganking. This isn't Hello kitty online where you're safe. This is Eve. Everything is a target. People don't treat the game with that mentality. Instead people want to just lelelelel slowboat freighters full of crap to Jita, or lose Viators full of stuff in wormholes, or interceptors stuffed to the gills with injectors. They expect the scales to be tipped in their favor of 'I'm minding my own business, just me doing this thing, I should be fine.' That's not how this game works. If you were a ganker as you claim to be, you know that.

The Eve community CAN retaliate. They CAN take steps to greatly reduce their chance of being attacked. Want to retaliate to a gank? Have a blackbird loaded down with gallente jams. Soon as a destroyer or talos hits grid, lock it. Soon as you get messages, start jamming things out. Gank fits don't fit ECCM. Use scouts. Use logi. The list literally goes on and on and on. I mean seriously. I get it. You feel like the only thing someone can do is sit around and wait for a gank to happen. That's not the case.

It was said best earlier in this thread, there are so many alts in this game, even if you were able to convince CCP to severely punish gankers with all these penalties, it'd just be a matter of spending 4 days training a new alt. You can't just shoot a guy who is walking down the street because he MIGHT break into your house. The best you can do is either call the Police or shoot him when he does break into your house. Seeing as 'calling Concord' would be so stupidly broken and exploitable, your best retaliation is on the front side of a gank, not the back side. Again, as a former ganker, you know that. But hey, let's say you want to go all guns blazing on gankers. Make a corp and war dec CODE. That option is always there too.

I've been on both sides of a gank and of this ganking issue at one point or another for one reason or another. At the end of the day, if someone is bound and determined to gank you and is able and willing to bring enough force they will. Good game. Also at the end of the day, if someone puts even a small bit of effort in, they can make it very difficult for a ganker to do it. Even a minimal effort is enough to deter most ganks. A real effort will deter all but the most focused ganks. And that's the way it should be. Most people just choose not to.

I've said my piece, you go ahead and take it as you will, or reject it as it doesn't fit your narrative, whatever.

For the hundreds of billions you have destroyed, what have you lost other than throw away gank ships?

Risk vs reward for gankers is heavy on the reward side.

Why are you so against changes that dont have any impact on your ability to suicide gank?

Our souls. Cool

Lol Couldn't keep a strait face.

Seriously though, ships are like ammo, think of them that way, we sure do. We only lose what is required.

Do you cry over the ammo you burn in a mission/complex, probably not.
Are you irritated when you don't bring enough or any at all, you betcha.

Also, your risk vs reward calculation is flawed, you are assuming and relying on the aggressed party doing nothing. In reality the only reason our losses are as skewed as they are is because it is flatly allowed by those who have the ability to do something about it. That reward part of the equation is just left sitting there, so, we take it. We don't get special unicorn fairy powers that destroy all and are fueled by the tears of our victims with ships that can insta-warp between systems and suddenly appear next to the destination. No, we got the same stuff as everyone else, we just use it.

Prevention/disruption is one aspect, another is retaliation when you lose assets. Just because you were dumb, lazy, or just was not concerned about the risk of loss, that does not mean you should not be able to retaliate. This is such a hard concept for all you ganker sympathizers to grasp. Things are unbalanced.

- Toons with -5 and below sec status should not be able to dock in high sec stations,

Those two sentences contradict eachother.

Suicide ganking is not docking, so nope.
