Implant Extractions

So, I'm sure this idea has been posed at one time in some form or another but here goes.

How about developing a skillbook, citadel mod, or some ability to extract implants from corpses?
Most fair scenario I can think of is like this:
1. Corpses have a shelf life. Only so long after a pod kill is the implant viable to extract. (Much like organ donors)
2. A hacking skill is required. The higher grade implant, the higher skill level required.
3. If hacking fails, raw parts are able to be salvaged that can be used to make implants (also requiring a skill)

What do you all think?

CCP has more than enough **** on their plate let them finish stuff started 3 years ago before they work on this.

Well from a delopers standpoint, this shouldnt take an extensive amount of work (I wouldnt think anyways). The model is already in place to mimic if the hacking route is used. They could simply copy and repurpose the data site hacking model, skills etc, rename them, and have the end result be implant loot rather than data loot. Im not a developer, but I have had some dealings with adding modules to programs. This could be a relatively quick change to gameplay that I believe players would love! My 2 cents...

10-20% extraction at most, to keep santo down... Just kidding LP/bounty exploits and implant price balance.

EvE-Mail me if you need anything.

Even this may not be enough to keep implant prices going strong if they were recoverable. The primary reason they should not be recoverable at all is to keep demand for LP from dropping even lower. If 20% made it back for resale (flood the market) or personal use (didn't actually drive the market at all), that would drop prices significantly. They also have a chance to drop a second time, making the actual rate of persistence a little higher. One of the reasons implants have not plummeted along with the rest of the shiny stuff is that they are fully consumed upon use. I.E for every deadspace or faction mod that is farmed up, it has a 50% chance to make it back to a player or a market. Implants have a 0% chance. This should make an incredible amount of intuitive sense as to why implants, as consumables, are a great way to keep LP semi-valuable.

It's thousands of years of technological advancement from right now. If they can clone an exact body on demand, and transfer consciousness thousands of light years into it with a 99.99% reliability, somehow, I doubt this would factor into things much.

I agree they should just roll hacking and Archaeology into one skill and refund SP. I can empathize that you are trying to make your dead SP valuable again, but not at the expense of the LP market.

Vote Vic Jefferson for CSM X.....XI.....XII?

And yet you didn't even care to search the forum... Slacker

This took me less than 30 seconds to find:
Extract implants

Implant salvage

Corpse reprocessing

Implantology

Could have found even more if I spend a few minutes

No from me.

Because we need to get attributes removed from the game, and anything which will depress the remaining implant market is a bad idea until we get attributes removed (With attribute implants being removed as well) and see what the effects on the market are.
