So, I was thinking, we're all super serious lately. I mean, we ARE a bunch of mass murdering sociopaths given godlike tools of destruction. So, I wanted to announce comedy night. Taking place, uh, hold on, I'm terrible at dates and times.

August 28 2100. There. There we go.

I wanna have a comedy night at The Broken Piano! The person voted the funniest by anonymous votes wins! I'll be taking entries and RSVP's from this thread. Now the last time I held a writing contest, almost all entries were Amarr. I love my fellow Faithful, but I'd like to hear some from the rest of the cluster! Be loud! Be raucous! Laugh your ass off!

I'm not sure what prizes will be, yet.

I'm gonna steal and modify Morwen's thing.
For those who desire a "tl;dr":
What: Comedy competition!
When: 28th August 2016, 2100
Where: The Broken Piano (Holopresence available)
Who: Everyone who can be respectful of other patrons and not creepy or an *******!
Dress code: Be tasteful!
Security: No weapons, illicit substances or violence permitted. Offenders will be restrained and removed (if necessary) by station personnel.

See above!

Never not badpost.

Sounds fun and I'll try to attend like last year! And don't look so surprised. Us Amarr do have a sense of humor! Sometimes.

Neither Kim nor I were born with a sense of humour, therefor we will be gracefully declining your function. Instead we have jointly decided to spend the night cataloguing the famous speeches of Tibus Heth.

However if someone bought me beer I could be persuaded to attend.

Two beers and I could retell some hearty pirate jokes that would make a working girl blush.

Thieving pirates discuss INTEGRITY; Anarchist gankers give us LAWS; and Whoring merc's cry then blow off clients with INSULTS.

Up is down and down is up in the C&P Forum.

I am actually terrible at jokes. I am only decent at sarcasm and snark and injecting humour in otherwise boring briefings.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

With the right act, that could really work though. Maybe if you wore a business suit and pretended to be a harried corporate middleman or something. Definitely right for political humor.

I definitely want to attend, but I'm not getting in front of anyone, unless what you're after is an angry mob. In that case, I'm your gal.

We could try the 'Sebiestor Engineer tries to fix Caldari Heavy Equipment' skit instead. I imagine the Civire executive being horrified that a non-ISO-certified Sebiestor Engineer is fixing his stuff by basically jury rigging everything. Civire executive exclaiming that the triangle bolt doesn't go into the square hole and the Sebiestor Engineer bullying the triangle bolt into the square hole anyway.

Something about 'that doesn't look safe' and 'but it works and hasn't exploded yet, yes?'.

I wonder what the Caldari think when I reveal that my CLAW in SMG configuration is also used as a nail-gun (all I had to do is swap the mags to one that contains the nails), and that our prospector drill rig is actually an artillery cannon and the drill is a shell with a drill bit at the tip, a rocket on the other end and a thermoelectric generator (harnesses the heat of the friction to supplement power to drill and sonic surveyor) and a sonic surveyor inside it. Or that our telemetry spikes are actually repurposed MTAC-sized pilebunkers.

Now this is what I call top drawer entertainment. I see holofilm potential in this.

Well, how about a laugh at my expense to start things off?

Why did Ché Biko travel to The Broken Piano on the 27th?

Because he thought it was the 28th.
