Eve is built around time sinks. Subscription gives months of game and CCP wants you to spend it as useless as possible so you woud need another one. That's why anything in this game takes time. And it will never change

There should be a 1-week warp option to travel straight from, say, jita to amarr. lol. People would do it just to avoid Niarja

This kills the tradehubs

Do you know what you spend most your time doing in other games? Running.

Would you ask the devs to remove movement there to improve their game? No, no you wouldn't.

At this point i can't even even.

Great Troll, so many believe it, 9/10.
That one point reduction is for what gave it away. (not telling)

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

A lot of other MMO's did away with running, it got in the way of instant gratification.

Did you see they now give isk rewards for doing the opportunities?

Seems to be the only way of countering all the people who say "just skip them" ...
... as if it really helped anything feeding the isk-centric way of thinking even more.

I like ISK-centric people.
They provide the best of lootdrops! Pirate

To pretend I was going to add something of value to the discussion, well... the notion of getting rid of warp speed is of course preposterous. But I do agree on the autopiloting part: no reason for that 15km slowboating-- the general idea seems to be to reward at-the-keyboard play but it looks more like :legacy code: to me, harken back to when the closest warp was 15km.

Why should AFK gameplay be penalized anyway? The economical benefit of operating your terminal is that you can avoid jumping into stuff you don't like (aka "situational awareness") and thereby save ship, cargo and crew. Imposing a 15km slowboat for no reason at all is a sad waste of a perfectly good subroutine imho- why have it if we can't use it?

(yes, I'm one of those guys who doesn't give a rat's ars3 whether someone is at his keyboard or not).

I'll let this slip and pretend you didn't write it.

As punishment I order you to write a deeply philosophical essay about the differences between living an active social life compared to merely participating.

Proof, if needed, that the entitled can never have enough.

Please CCP, don't chase them down the rabbit hole; it would be the death of the game.

I would suggest, instead, that CCP gets rid of 'futuristic' renditions of the name 'Jonathan' before getting rid of warp speeds

I read the forum rules. No ranting. So I'll try not to.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before. But can someone tell me why I have to spend real life time watching a warp screen and selecting the next jump gate location by hand to make it faster.

PLEASE get rid of warp speeds. What's the problem if I get there too fast? I'm sure the creator is really proud of the warp anim. and I know it's likely been around for the last nine years like dust in the corner of a room...but as a newcomer with a fresh perspective, the warp screen animation and the whole warp speed of each ship is a real world waste my precious time. I don't buy PLEX so that I can sit and watch warp animations and click "jump" on each star gate so that I don't have to wait even longer for the ship to creep at a snails pace toward the jump gate. I buy PLEX to actively play, fight NPC ships, mine for planet resources, explore wormholes etc. I suppose if the kind of customer that CCP is looking for is those who have nothing to do all day but sit in front of their computer and click "jump" after each warpdrive active voice...and not those of us that only have a few hours a day to devote to a game...then they are on the right path.

And if that isn't an option for some reason. How about making autopilot worth pressing by making it jump the next location not show up 30km away. What a useless tool. Does anyone use autopilot without going to the fridge to make a sandwhich and then stopping by the restroom to take a crap? It's bad enough that training level 5 take 19 days for some things...but at least I can go play another game for 19 days and come back to EVE to finally have that training done...

But I'm a new player so how long will this game keep me interested. Seriously the developers need to realize this may be their life's ambition...to endlessly collect dollar bills for in game excitement...but they better get rid of the boring parts or I won't be renewing my PLEX subscription beyond what I have.

If you can watch this without blanking out you are a true eve player otherwise GB2WoW

There's still covert cynos to discover. If only OP would stick with it long enough to have the SP

Someone get them in fleet in a covops and launch them somewhere.

At first I thought this guy must be a troll. But then I realised this is actually CCPs new intended market which they are trying to appeal to. So I guess we'll be seeing instant warp travel as the bright idea from CCP next time they get around to releasing something.

I think you are missing the point. The OP has to press a key to run; a simple forward movement key occasionally in combination with a left or right directional key. Even this simple action is plenty to keep the OPs brain stimulated during travel, whereas in Eve during travel he has no buttons to press to keep his brain at full capacity.

He pays his PLEX subscription (whatever that is) and so he deserves better.
