Congratulations CCP - this year you are firmly on course to deliver the least amount of Developer Blogs to the community in any given year by a country mile, since this game was released.

I guess it isn't for me to say if these statistics are indicative of anything but keep up the good work thanks.

Devs likely stopped posting blogs because they are too busy posting on Reddit.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

Yeah. EVE employees don't like EVE stuff. Over there they don't have to follow the rules they gave us here.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Could be they're working on the next farewell thread for the next departing dev.

Fortunately they don't have to waste time writing any "Welcome to Dev XXX" threads/blogs.

It's also like they don't Dev blog all the smaller changes but instead put them in the Upcoming Features forum, and occasionally even put them into a forum like WH's or Industry.
If you count all the threads there about features about to be implemented that come without Dev blogs in your count as well, I suspect you will come out with quite a different picture.

So what you are saying is that CCP are not shitposting enough.

Sad, but true.

That CCP use Reddit far more than their own forum does rather suggest that the forum is somewhat below an acceptable standard.

Or maybe the Reddit standards fits them more. Either way, its the same actually. Acceptable for them.

I wonder why we hear no word from CCP Thomas, their Monetization Director. He is yet to post a dev blog about SKINs. If he is still around.

It was a nice time when you could jump into a bunch of Police Brutixes, without bothering with all this AUR thing.

Who could blame them for that?

r/eve atleast has some creativity with their shitposting.

The official forum is mostly just repeating the same whiny bullshit over and over again. (Mimimi CCP is nerfing ganking, Mimimi someone ganked my ship, Mimimi a player interacted with me,...)

People around love to talk about 'community' and friendship between players and devs.... Cool

Everytime i see a whine about reddit vs these tired old forums, I flash back to all those people hating on Facebook because they were MySpace patriots lol.

Personally, I don't blame the DEVs at all, Reddit is a better and freer experience where posters still experience joy at playing EVE (and actually post about things that happen in EVE) while this place is just one angsty whine about ganking or cloaking or lack of WiS after another.

reddit is overflowing with crybabbies who can't handle eve-o. This is the hardcore shitposting site. It's just harder to spot.

Reddit is the mainstream shitpool.
Filled with casuals, sheep and f1 monkeys.
Quality is, as in every bigger community, a minority.
Filled with people who don't care about the game, but about their fun.

The forums are bittervet-heaven and the only place actually caring people don't get removed from sight by the ignorant, selfish and gratification seeking (!) masses.

r/eve is just the gutter sewage. It takes real cleverness and style to post in these forums and not break the rules but still get your point across.

Here your opinion has weight and merit, and when you need to get slapped, you get slapped but in creative and stylistic ways that take more than two seconds of thought to come up with.

Reddit has nothing on these forums. I've been reading Reddit stuff for a couple of years now and it has only gotten worse, not better. Now you can watch grannies diss each other over their best chocolate chip cookie recipes. It appeals to the lowest qualities of human nature.

At least here you are held to a higher standard. If the Devs aren't posting here because they'd rather be posting over there, for whatever reason, then the games days are numbered. I don't agree with that viewpoint but it's possible.

Personally, I think the Devs are really busy and in combination with the natural instinct of the geeky/coder sort towards introversion, they don't want to post anything up. Just look at how the player base treats their posts, they can't say anything without making someone upset to come whine about it here.

I think they'd post more if we treated them better, and don't come back with a reverse of that, it's BS.

There is no such thing as a country mile, I only know of statute miles and nautical miles.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

This is an example of a bias fueled by preference. I know because I used to do it to when talking about other forums like scrapheap vs here (because I preferred here). It's normal to defend the thing you use vs the thing you don't (which is why we can be very smug EVE players about that crappy game called WoW that incidentally has way more players lol). But as I've taken a step back it's easier for me to see why Reddit is superior to the EVE forums, which is why it's no mystery why DEVs would communicate there and in other places like twitter instead of here. These forums are literally MySpace, the world (including the DEVS and excluding the dinosaurs of General Discussion) has moved on to Facebook, erm, I mean Reddit.

Where the DEVs post has nothing to do with the health of the game, in fact it's probably a good sign. In the past the developers didn't say much at ALL in public where people could see them, making CCP very opaque and mysterious. Now CCP is way more open and unlike in years past you can actually interact with a developer or other ccp employee....on Reddit and Twitter.
