The only problem with this name is that it could be construed as commercial advertising, which is explicitly banned. If it merely offends you by virtue of mentioning something that upsets your 'moral sensibilities', then that's a personal problem. For the former, you can file a ticket to the effect of commercial advertising. Whining about it on the forums won't achieve anything. For personal problems, seek a therapist.

A name like this is immersion breaking. We are reckless, trans-human, Randian spaces heroes and heroines. I do not want to become aware that the player behind the pilot I am shooting is another G.I.R.L. jerking off to Internet porn. On the other hand: This is EVE...

Edit: I am sure that everyone has seen characters such as “MinmatarCitizen 897297827.” They are the result of renaming characters who's previous names conflicted with the EULA. Probably, we will see “Upwell Consortium Citadell 897297827” and the like soon as well.

Of course there isn't and nobody said so. Still, it is immersion breaking and while I am not advocating that there should be any rules—except for the ones already in place, forbidding racial, sexual etc. slurs—naming makes a huge difference.

Multiplayer games are notoriously bad at staying in-character.
Trolls are notoriously effective at walking back any stay-in-character rule over time: "That was allowed, you have to allow this one too!" They also generally become massive minefields for newbies and moderation nightmares.

The reality is that this is a game with set rules even by CCP. It sucks that people bother doing this imo. Like I said in the OP it has zero to do with my moral sensibilities but the fact that everytime you jump into perimeter there it is on your overview. Its the same with the stuff that used to litter jita and the hubs that people used to make but this is as permanent as the owner wants it to be.

Petitions only go so far and sweep this sort of thing under the rug. Making others aware of it, be it positive or negative, does actually get more light but on the issue.


I DO NOT WANT OUT OF GAME ADVERTISING IN ANY FORM IN GAME!! If it were up to me Id even get IWI and other Eve related spam silenced but thats taking it a bit far even for me.Twisted
