o/ Rabbit P As an enthusiat hobbyist, how did you cast those models ?3D printing or did you currently have a mold (one you can currently use in a plastic injection machine, very unlikely concidering the price range of those).

Brings me to my next question..... CCP, why you no make tabletop fleet battle game (similar to Star Wars: Armada)?!

I think it would be too similar for them to even consider it for bigger market and also because title would onnly appeal to some EVE players.

But I would put that model on the shelf for sure. Its very nice and ship is one of my favourites, when it comes to looks.

The thing that stops most people from trying this game is the thing that makes most of us players love it. A tabletop game would appeal to a much broader audience.
Because, let's face it.... the sandbox isn't for everyone, but space battles are something most nerds can enjoy.

Hmm, you may be right, but I think EVE still doesnt have something like a big name and following, it surely has not big following and big name outside mmorpg and gamers culture, maybe with these TV series that were in discussion some time ago it would became bigger.

A tabletop game would only increase name-recognition.
And I agree with you on the TV series. As long as they get John Barrowman to play me.

Tabletop game are dying allover the world since the birth of videogame, there is a hobby shop closing almost everyday and you want CCP to invest into it ...Roll

-Concerning a TV show,i very much doubt than anyone would produce it.Why because to properly translate Eve universe you would need state of the art CGI and an insame amount of that, or your TV show would quickly looks like Syfy crap and fall into oblivion in a matter of weeks.

If CCP really want to increase name-recognition, they must fix their PVE , every succesfull MMO has a very strong high end PVE group content EVE hasn't , except incursion who are boring, repetitive and strongly lack epicness....that s why WOW has still 10 M subscribers where EVE barely pass the 150 K threshold.

Millions of D&D players beg to differ. We're on 5th edition, now. Just came out, almost two years ago.
Not to mention the growing popularity of Star Wars: X-Wing and Armada.
Let's not even go into how many people are still playing Warhammer 40k and Battletech.

First DD even if it falls into tabletop category is more an ,RPG than a tabletop game compared to game like W40K,warhammer battle, who themselves are more strategy games....

Millions of players who are you trying to fool,i m not even sure 5 th edition sold 500 k copies worldwide.

Growing popularity of x wing and armada fleet ,ffs go on the street and ask random people if they know them ,ask the same question for WOW,GTA, and pokemons Twisted

Finally W40K is on the decline since gamesworshop decided to sell exclusivities and pre order only on internet and in their own shop.Killing hundred of independant shops worldwide.

P-S: BattletechShocked are you a necromancer ,lol i did enjoy the game back in 90's.

Nya Kittenheart, as a fellow model builder, looking at some of the pictures closely it would appear that at least some of them are 3D printed. You can clearly see the "lines" created by the print process. There are ways to clean this up prior to painting and some are more labor intensive than others.

These are very good kits but are a bit rough up close. We call that "stand off scale". That being said, one of the plastic model companies could easily take a sample of these, clean them up. create master molds from them and pop plastic kits at a VERY cost effective rate. The only downside is that not everyone is an accomplished model builder. But this would open up the secondary market for those of us who are. :)

I for one would purchase each of these in kit form. Be it in styrene, resin, or 3D printed media.
