Incidentally - for all those who don't have an in-sun bookmark but would like one:

Go to the Simela solar system

Scan down the abandoned caracal named "Antollare37 Caracal"

Bookmark it.

Now you have a bookmark to the center of the sun - happy bouncing!

Just don't ask me how he managed to abandon it there - because I honestly have no idea...

edit: Scanning hint - IT IS INSIDE THE SUN - should only take you 1 scan even with minimal skills if you do it right P

Bad news has a slightly higher speed multiplier.

I like going fast.

Really fast.

Ridiculously fast.

So fast it is just pointless...

And this is my ship I've come up with as the fastest so far.

My question is - other than obviously adding more expensive faction equipment to the svipul hull....does anyone have a ship that goes faster?

First of all, use digital rocket booster... preferable a 10MN Digital Rocket booster on a Daredevil (not capstsble lol) With fleetboost, implants, overheat and quafe zero, u can Reach up to 20k ms

Or.... a 100MN Digital Rocketbooster on a faction cruiser.... capstable, but not as fast as frig With 10MN. (up to 18k ms)

In wormspace where there are bonus to microwarpdrive and afterburner... u can go even faster.

To make it go even faster.. then im talking stupidious fast.... Go sunbumping... when landing on sun, hit the rocketbooster ;)

Unless I'm missing something the 50mn digital rocket booster daredevil is 1km/s slower...

edit: Also without cap stability you can't get up to full speed, as acceleration takes a while with an oversized propulsion module. I'm only interested in ships that can actually be flown - EFT was used only for a convenient stats display format.

edit #2: You are correct however the 50mn digital rocket booster does add 200m/s to the speed - so 23.9km/s instead of 23.7. The main downside being that the ship jumps from 80m to 300m and becomes a valid ganking target - so I'm not sure it is worth it for only 200m/s. We will see.

edit #3: In fact now that I re-read your reply you clearly didn't look at my fit even... 20km/s? 18km/s? I'm already going *23.7km/s*...Without black hole effects or other unrealistic elements.

my fault... i didnt read/viewed ur pic good enough. Didnt see that 23km/s... and i missed it was a svipul... so im gonna logg on and try a tact. dest. to check.

Answer to Edit: yes, you can get it to max speed... With engineering implants

Edit2: never lost my sppedships, so cant answer ;)

Yes, sunbump is a result of having a bookmark within the ejecting zone in the sun (in the middle... well almost in the middle)

Also I already have a bookmark into the center of a sun for sunbumping - but it isn't the same thing.

----> Additional edit:

i tested With a tactical destroyer, ingame, and sofar my Daredevil is 10% faster than the Hecate.... even my Cynabal (With 500MN Digital Rocketbooster) is 4,2% faster than the Hecate.

That thing would be great for making undocks/tactical bookmarks! And here I thought my 5.3 km/s interceptor was pretty good.

Yeah the hecate doesn't get the same speed boost - it really has to be the svipul specifically.

Daredevil is very close to the same speed though - 2nd fastest ship in EVE I think.

Battleship can be faster than any of this ships.
You simply need to know how.
Edit:
Yes object bounce.

Back in the day...

You could activate more than one MWD at a time. You could get a scorpion to go 0.1au/s

Just saying :p

Well, when you fit for speed you pay the price in both offense and defense, as well as utility. Those mods take up all your space, a good chunk of your cap, CPU and PG. You're somewhat left with a ship that can really move and maybe do 1 other thing moderately OK.

I'm not sure what shenanigans you could get away with that couldn't be easily countered by someone with a fraction of the module space and ship resources used.

Then again, that's typical EVE, it's made so the defenses to some kind of an attack are usually cheaper than the offenses needed to specialize in an attack. This in and of itself is a form of abuse prevention.

With enough speed you could travel faster than comms. Smile

I wish we still had the EVE racing league. If you weren't around then, the idea was for ships to race through a course of low sec systems. Shooting each other was allowed, and if you died in a gate camp... well, you lost. It closed when I was still too newb to try it out. Somebody make a new one please?
