Is there a particular reason that the new launcher forgets my login?

Is there a particular reason that the new launcher forgets my profile a resets it back to default?

I know I have to use the drop down now. It doesn't remember me in the username field any more. I was assuming that was for security purposes.

Are you running windows 10? If so I believe this is more connected to windows 10 than the Launcher.
However the profile will still exist, just hit the little gear and select the correct profile again

When you click out of the program, don't click the little X on the small window with your PWD/ID.
Click the one on the BIGGER window. It should be good to go (if you put that tick in the "remember me" box - insecure.)

If you run CCleaner, or something similar, expect to have to redo a lot of stuff. My CCleaner doesn't wipe out the ticked launcher PWD/ID window, but other similar products might. (I can't help but believe a lot of these problems arise from people who are heavily tweaking things on their machines to the degree they can't really say if the problem is them or CCP.)

This stuff always works for me as intended. Then, I tend to leave well enough alone.

PS Learn the definition of "bug", too. That annoys me when people say "bug" and they don't have a clue what one is.

Words like "bug" and "glitch" generally translate to "I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'm going to blame something else, because :reasons:"

Although I am by no means an IT expert. I am not illiterate. I called it a bug for a very simple reason. There was no pattern that I could find. It did not happen based on how I closed the game. It did not happen based on disc clean ups, virus scans, general maintenance of my computer. I could find no rhyme or reason other then the fact it only happened with the new launcher. So try to be more respectful before you insinuate that I lack the intelligence to know what a "bug" may be.

As to others yes i have windows 10. I cannot find anything that it does or that I do to cause it to happen.

Windows 10 has a glitch where it doesn't save program data properly when shutting down/restarting sometimes. Does that help with a pattern?
The other thing I've noticed is the launcher might appear to have forgotten your passwords if it fails to log in, but as soon as you enter one login it remembers all the others suddenly. I'm not sure if that is connected to the first Windows issue also.

I have Windows 10.

I had imported my client settings from the old launcher to the new launcher and when logging into the game, the new launcher would automatically select Default which of course is like a brand new account logging into the game. No custom Overview set up, no custom chat channels, no custom window placement, no settings for Market, Map, Autopilot, etc.

I'd then have to log out and use the drop down menu and select my imported profile which has all my client settings.

After a while that got rather tiresome so I deleted the Default profile. Problem solved. You might wanna try that.

I run Windows 7 and the same thing happens to me. But for the life of me, I can't understand why clicking a drop-down menu was a big enough deal to commit a new thread about it. I just accepted it as the new status quo for starting up EvE, and the muscle memory to do it was set in place merely a few days after it started doing it. Really not a big deal.

That was a very clever attempt to rationalize using leet-speak, however it is by no means deserving of respect.

Well....the point is that it is not a bug. It's clearly something to do with the OP's settings or the way he/she is interacting with the launcher.

I'm running Win10. The conversion to the new launcher went smoothly and I've had no problems logging in. It's always set to my main account.

So yeah..."bug" is being used incorrectly in this thread.
