how to use heavy fighters bomb

anyone knows how to use heavy fighters bomb ? when I press that button I have to define a position in 3D without being able to rotate the view and when I finally managed ( by luck ) to launch in the direction of a target ship, the bomb flew and just disappeared next to that ship, without any explosion or damage.

As of my testing on sisi the bombs outright didn't work at all. If they're still buggy as hell I'm not surprised I'd consider it par for course.

The Heavy Fighter Bombs are working, but very hard to use. We tested it on Rats in Anomalys and one Bomb can destroy almost an entire Haven Spawn, only BS and Elite Cruiser survive with Structure Damage

how were you able to even target those ships ?
we have tried today again and there was no sign of any explosion or damage when the bomb went off.

First of all, the Tactical Overview helps a lot.
H-Fighter Bombs have ~31km Range (Fighters fly around 1km before launching the bombs) and 10km Radius.

If you activate the Bombs the you get a circle around your carrier. First you get the X Coordinates and afterwards the Y Coordinates.
Alternative you can "look at" your HFighters and the Circle will appear around the Fighters, which makes the first pratice shots easier.

Ok thank you VERY much for the tactical overview hint. Now all my bombs hit the target.
I have noticed that even with perfect hits, the maximum amount of damage a bombing from a heavy fighter squadron can do is 1970 for a 10% resist. Enough to destroy half tanked frigate, but close to nothing against a T2 cruiser or more. As a comparison, the primary weapon from that fighter does 1510 against the same target every few seconds.

I should have specified that we are trying the heavy fighters as a means of defense for a citadel and not with a supercarrier. Maybe that is a difference because from what i know the skills do not apply in this case, but even with 50% difference the damage is still too low.

It is an extremely difficult method. Just when I think I've cracked it, I end up launching in a 90 degree angle to where I'm expecting. I hope CCP look at this and improve it.

The biggest problem is that you can't rotate your camera while selecting a target. If they fix that, easy.
