Hi all newbro here, I'm not a greedy person so for me amassing Isk is not something I feel like I need to do, I'm now upto around 3 million skill points and working on pushing my skills so I can get access to tech II modules in the various locations that my ships use, guns, shields etc.

As a result I have a skill queue that's well over a month long and I now find that even tho iv only been playing for I guess 3 million+ skill points worth of time(3 months?) roughly that I am login in checking my mail and logging back out.

This is the only MMO I have ever played and I have played a lot of them, where I don't wake up in the morning and look forward to logging in, I am waking in the morning and checking my phone to see if I can slot anything else onto my queue and that's it.

Every now and then I log in and check the corp recruitment chat for potential corp homes but finding one that fits has been an epic nightmare, Corps either want a min SP that I do not yet have, or they want me to move out to null and mine, honestly if I am going to be forced to mine I would rather do it in Highsec where I can afk and watch a movie.

I appreciate that once I finally find a corp with the criteria I need I will have more reasons to login, but in the mean time what makes you all log in, what are the little activities that fill your day in EvE, or are you like me and have nothing to do, or more accurately nothing compelling to do.

I log in to be social with my fleetmates and the thrill of PvP. When activity is at a lull I plan and acquire new fits, scout around a bit, do some ISK-making activities to fund my habits, and plan future events.

I just plain seems like EVE and you aren't that compatible TBH, it sounds like you enjoy a bit of the old instant gratification..snd there is nothing wrong with that, EVE just doesn't lend itself to that kind of thing, even with things like skill injectors.

It's a game for self starter types who MAKE things to do rather than wait to experience them. After a shaky start 9 years ago I never stopped logging in to do stuff unless outside forces intervened. outside forces like Wife, lack of internet while moving houses, having to go to work, etc.

Just last night I was working overtime when a ship fit idea (which will probably fail, like most of mine do) hit me. Could not wait to get home and run it by my buds even though I was too tired to actually play.

Eve is a game that only gives back, what you put in. Occasionally it leeches your soul and makes you vomit profusely all over the keyboard too. But really? It's a toolbox. If you ignore the tools, the resources and building blocks available...

They won't build things for you. You can't just open it and magically be presented with a new gizmo to fiddle with.

-you have to make it- ...

And be willing to let someone else break it or at least face the consequences that they might certainly try.

CCP included if your toy or new content is too disruptive.

But seriously, one logs in for the things you can create, learn or do.

If you look at it in terms of SP or ISK or PVE or even only PVP content. You will eventually get bored and find something else that's shiny, better executed, free and new. (Before returning to the pure hell/misery that is eve and its *somethingsomething* developers).

And finally, you log in for the people you get to know, & if you're lucky get to call friends.

What are you doing with the SP that you already have?

Don't let the self entitled players tell you this game is not for you. They think Eve is some enigma that only certain people have the wisdom to figure out, but in reality it's whatever you want it to be.

For no frills pvp try some fw. You don't need much skill to tag along and you can make your own schedule. Also noone cares if you mess up and you can fly some cheap fits so risk is low.

Edit: Also Eve is meant to be played with a second monitor with Netflix/youtube on.

There is so much that can be done in this game. Go have fun doing the many things you can do with the skillpoints you have now rather than wait until you have more. Your fun is not limited to none because you don't have a zillion skillpoints (or isk...or whatever). Find a corp that's right for you...read this: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=331341&find=unread

edit - Skill injectors are pretty much a waste of isk, imo...but I'm glad people buy them as I've made a bunch alt-siphoning SP...so I suppose I should encourage others to waste their isks...um...yeah...buy skill injectors until you can fly a dreadnought!...

I dont really like that this is an available option, but it is. I'd question what one can do with 4M SP that one can't with 3M but eh.

Personally I think the situation is better framed as looking at what one can do, rather than pinining over what one cant. When I had 3M SP I was derping about in a nano caracal trying very incompetently to farm DED plexes in lo-sec. I was probably making about 1.5M ISK/hr, but that didn't matter because I was flying a t1 fit nano caracal. I didn't pay any attention to what anyone else was doing, only to what I was doing.

I had extremely good times.

The cheaper faction/deadspace mods can sometimes rival or beat tech2.. If you feel that your getting held back by your modules then I suggest you look at those on the cheaper end and see if that can meet your needs.

The game allows users to go in many different dead-ends, err I mean directions. You don't need to set a "goal" to reach, but you should try picking a couple of those directions and pushing yourself towards them, else you will not know if you enjoy them or not.

Early game you do feel that your held back due to SP or ISK, don't let those things hold you back, just try to run them on a scale that fits what you can cope with.

Also you could be churning out much more SP than 1m per month. With +5's and correct mapping you can get just over 1.9m per month.

I find myself in a lul quite a bit... Few months play, few years off... The game is open ended so you can do that if you want.. Welcome to the sandbox.

Why does this look to me like fishing for a "we're not that kind of corp, join us." thing?

Actually you can't afk, it's not CODE-compliant behaviour.

Hello and welcome to Eve.

Since you're a newbro you haven't even really seen or experienced everything Eve has to offer. No matter what type of gameplay you enjoy, PvP or PvE, there's a lot of different career paths available.

Things to do in Eve

That link shows quite a bit and there's still even more game play options available that's not listed such as CCP's new Event Opportunities. You can also create your own Event. For example in the past there's been players who have documented a Sight-Seeing tour of Eve Landmarks or have literally traveled through all the systems in Eve starting with The Eve Gate.

Travel Guide

I suggest trying out different career paths and then alternate your time between the ones you like. That will keep the game fresh, exciting and entertaining for a long time.

Hope you have a long and rewarding career here.

There is soo many you can do in EvE, even just cruising around New Eden and visit new places can be relaxing ... what do I do when logging in? Check my industry production, haul stuff from/to market, reset my nullsec PI planets, switch to PvP clone, go solo hunting in lowsec and wormholes, join a fleet, do some relic exploration, answer questions in the german help channel ... running in circles between Jita and Osmon to grab points and loot of the current event while babysitting market orders. In January I completed a special project to unlock all four Empire epic arcs at the same time ...

I'm my own NPC alt.

Satchel Darkmatter, you're suffering the symptoms from not being part of my "Hub Zero" venture.

You don't need a corp, just your pod, I can show you exciting stuff to do where I am that will fit your criteria, we can blue each other and live like a small community, Be patient there's still lots you can do with T1 mods as part of a small fleet.

Shoot me an email whenever and I will explain it to you.
