Citadel Hangars

This is simple idea, and it's probably been proposed elsewhere, but search showed no results:

Citadels should have the capability to house hangars that can be controlled by access lists. The current corp hangar system only allows access by that specific corporation's members. With a hangar set by access lists, you could have shared resources between alliance members and trusted allies.

Unsure on numbers that should be available, but possibly 3 hangars in medium, 5 in large, 10 in XL.

This feature would be no safer than the current corp hangar system, and in fact could be less secure because a wider group of people could potentially have access the the hangars. As for the safety system if/when the citadel is destroyed, all assets would go to the corp that held the citadel.

ME IS FULLY SUPPORT THIS ISSUE!

CCP Developers, PLEASE, take this into consideration.
While Citadels were introduced, and while the community is waiting the outcoming of POS gameplay, there are NO the SAME feature AS "Corporative Hangar".

Below I copypast the petition of people from my Corp. Really, why NO CORP HANGARS in Citadels?? This is beautiful feature of POS gameplay! Save the tradition of "common economics" and "corp solidarity" in the Citadel's gameplay!

--- THE PETITION ---
Capsuleers of Forbidden Dockyards corporation are signing the petition in order to:
Ask the CCP developer Team to add the functionality of "Corporate Hangar" or the same functionality to Citadels.

In cause of removing POSes from the game, moreover by adding Citadels - there are no functionality in Citadels like POS corporation hangars.

Please, add it to the game.

Petition signers: 8 PERSONS
Kris Galeon, Roman Krylov, vVv Hamu, SHURIK XAN, Dmitru Savrasov, Otherworldiy. Damilaska Ichinumi, Eva Pride.
--- END OF PETITION ---

Sal Askiras, +++

UPDATE: problem is solved by renting office. But there is no way to multiply divisions of hangars. :(

This was suggested before but just one hangar, and I still support it.

What would be the point of being in a player corporation then?

There are already precious few reasons to be in a corporation, and access to shared hangers is one of the major ones. If you remove that, there will be little reason not to just form one-man corps and use these shared hangers to avoid wardecs.

Sorry, -1, at least as proposed. There needs to be some drawbacks and/or vulnerabilities to prevent corporations from being completely useless. Maybe in the future if belonging to a specific player corporations afforded a real advantage, but not today given shared asset hangers is one of the few defining features of a corporation.

And a button to open the corp hangar, so I don't have open a ships cargo hold to get there.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

... I don't see how in any way that this detracts from joining a player corporation. Nowhere did I suggest removing corp hangars, and nowhere did I suggest that these hangars be open to anyone. Anyone in EVE that allows hangar access to everyone is ASKING for it to be cleaned out.

There are places in EVE where multiple corps and alliances share space and stations. Citadels already allow you to share services among groups like this. These hangars are just an extension of that.

Why would you join a player corporation if all the perks of being in a corporation are obtainable another way?

Not really. Easily shared assets in hangers is just a corporation thing. This is why you are asking for this in the first place because it doesn't exist elsewhere.

I see less of a problem with some sort of 'Alliance Hanger', but given that shared controlled access hangers really are just the province of being in a corporation, I am pretty sure CCP will not implement this so players can bypass being in a player corporation completely. But perhaps I am wrong, they always are surprising me.

You obviously have a totally different idea of what joining a corp means than I do. When I join a corp, or a guild in any other game, it's because its a group of people I want to play with, not because of what stuff I might get out of them. Besides, someone in a player corp has to set up the citadel and set up the permissions to these hangars. If they want to open up their shared hangar to a NPC corp, then its their fault when someone steals everything. If they want to open it up to one newbie in a NPC corp, I don't see any harm in that, and could be used as a gesture to recruit that person.

And yes, really. I play in null sec, and we have two alliances that live in our same constellations. We share space, share stations, share fleets, but can't share assets without direct trades or contracts.
