New Serpentis event. Played it on test the last month... Assumed it would be a ninja-fest when it went live.

I don't even need to fight in the shipyards. Just warp in.... MWD and bump the crap out of the guy by the can while he takes all the aggro and steal the loot when he finishes. No worries about criminal and nothing he can do...

Since I noticed that once aggro is on you it stays with these sites (ran fleet of 4 on test to every site over and over and rats never changed targets except to your drones).

I think this one is a flop and geared more towards nullsec. Is a waste of time imo and I think something better could have been done for content. I would rather scan these sites down than to have a big beacon for everyone to warp to in any part of space.

Was hoping they would make some changes before it went live.... It is simply a ninja-grief fest and I am glad everyone in a rush to get the magical worthless rewards.... Leaves more boring combat sites untouched and scans for me

Working as intended, most likely.

You don't need the contents of the box for the site to count, only to kill enough rats in the site before the box gets opened.

They should make it MANDATORY for every CCP Employees to play at least 10 hours of EVE per weeks.

Also they should start at the bottom, like everybody.

You want them to spend a full day out of the 5 workdays that a week has, playing? Are you crazy? They already never get anything done.

And then if you think about their tasks, quite a few of the employees would not benefit from playing the game. What's the benefit for the guys who keep the servers up and repaired, for example? Or the receptionist? Or the accounts payable / receivable people?

Do YOU actually learn about the game when you play? Cause I thought it was all the guides, tutorials, reddit, wikis, youtube videos, and other resources created by players, that are the true source of information about the game. Who the hell logs into the game to learn? Even fitting, you use EFT or pyfa; you don't go in-game to fit ships with random stuff to see what works.

Rats DO change aggro, flew into a few sites yesterday that had someone there. As soon as I started taking out the frigates they switched to me, all of them.

As for the containers, well I have only seen one site that has them and I don't bother racing for it if someone is already close to it, The rewards from taking out the battleships and cruisers is a decent isk reward.

But loot, the loot available by salvaging is dismal and should be improved. At least some of the structures should destroyable with a decent chance of a container, I fail to see the point of site after site of indestructible structures. (that goes for any site anywhere)

Solecist Project...." They refuse to play by the rules and laws of the game and use it as excuse ..." " They don't care about how you play as long as they get to play how they want."

Welcome to EVE.

I was rather amused by someone taking the stuff in the can so I said typical in local to get a Eve is not a rainbow and unicorn game rant which I told him I was well aware of as it was full of players like him. He most probably thought that he put a whining carbear in his place, while I was left bemused at someone being so poor in this game that they were scrabbling around for these processors that will be in Serpantis and Angel LP stores going forward. To show that I dropped a couple more for the poor sap and told him some more stuff, but he was so stupid he warped out without picking up my gift. Roll

Oh well never mind...

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

Nice thing is that you get credit for sites while in a fleet...no matter where your teammates are in system. People get so greedy they don't understand this concept.

Have been at sites where there is a solo player trying to do them. So I invite to fleet and declined. I sit there going "ok dude, spend all that extra time killing the rats for nothing..we both get credit...you want to do it the hard way? Then let's do it"

Everything is so linear.... I try to play nice guy but this event begs for some a-hole-ness. We just fleet up and assign a "bumper" who just bumps everyone off the cans etc. while the rest of us do the killing. We all get credit (if we have the challenge) and split the crap.

In all honesty, It took the ENTIRE month on test server to earn enough points for the top reward going solo. It was a grind to get to that point. I also believe that there were less points needed on test as well. People will see that this is geared a lot towards roaming a small gang or fleet to do these events. The solo guy is going to be working 5x as hard to get anything out of this.

The best strategy for this event is to hang around those shipyard sites in highsec in a fast ship till the locals have cleared it (plus steal the loot if you are in the mood). They are spawning so fast you can get a decent number of points in short time with almost zero effort.

Stupid iteration, they took away all the things what made the previous events great.

To get points the only thing you have to do is, being on grid when the can is looted or the last rat is killed. No fleet, no socializing.

I think 10 hours a week is too much.

But a new "Feature" change like this should have several of them play it for a few hours at stock.

Once I seen the rewards I was unsure why anyone was playing this, okay the bounty is nice and perhaps those players in 0.0 getting the special implants are making good isk out of it. But the actual 3 stage reward is crap..

There is a implant that's going to give you a whopping 10,800 SP ... How many people will spend two weeks getting that can to be so happy, only to not realise how crap it is ;P...

If they would have worked for 15/30/60 days then perhaps they would be worth it.

It's a total fail of a reward, but people are still happy to grind it out. Laughable when you consider that a noobship in a noobsystem could oneshot 10k/day before in about 30 seconds.

As I recall, on test you got better rewards.... way better. Ship, implants, etc.

as of 2 days ago i saw those serpentis chips selling at like 200k isk

these days i go in and i kill the battlecruisers and cruisers and laugh at the guy who thinks he's pro-elite cause he took 100-500k worth of stuff that may or may not sell.

I'll enjoy the 2-3m in bounty instead

so, still LESS than the value of the actual kills by a fair margin, and how long will that persist with hundreds if not thousands of them being generated every hour

more power to those who can get away with it, my point was im happy amassing bounty kills. Half the time im in a site with someone else i just tell them to go right ahead anyway. The rest of the times they just do it and i do my thing and we all eve in our own ways. gotta love it

I have been very non-aggressive in terms of getting the loot in the shipyard. Even so, I gave acquired quite a few of the processors, and a T2 implant.

I have seen the rats switch targets, and I've never seen anyone bump.

Meanwhile I've been quite enjoying this event and everyone I've jumped in to help has been grateful for my assistance.

Considering the parts that drop from those cans are usually only worth 500k each anyway, I'd say this is the most cooperative event I've seen so far in EVE.

Good that you like it, and that everybody gets a share. Big smile I'm doing it casually but not hunting for it like in previous events. We just ended a small roam in lowsec ... and the sites are piling up there, nobody bothers doing them, no fights ...

The problem are not the challanges themselve (though they need some tweaking), but the reward structure. The immediate reward for completing a site is close to zero or small (shipyards), and the crates require too much grinding for also a very small reward. Remember in the first event we got boosters in every second site and advanced boosters in every fourth ... people were hunting and competing for the sites like crazy. All that ISK neutral because of drops (bounties are faucets).

You predicted that in the legendarily cut-throat game of EVE a new event would give people new opportunities to steal from each other? You, sir, are a seer with no equal...
