EVE changes to, I only don't like direction.
You see it's all a matter of organization, if arena will work one day at week, will you see changes?
Or if it will work one day at month, will it be so scary?
I do not say how to do it, I'm more talking about that we are missing.

The EVE beauty of EVE is the player driven content in the sandbox. If you are missing something set it up. In my alliance we have something similar for fun in events where there was a prize, people would team up two and two, and the teams accept duels with each other (to avoid standing loss if you are in FW), then fight it out with a referee. Find a low activity system and go nuts. We have also done king of the hill style fighting. I don't see why you need CCP support though.... Make a post on the forums and reddit, spam ingame channels get an arena style league up and running if you think it is needed.

Buttomline it has been done in small scale and is possible. So just arrange it. Don't expect CCP to do everything for you.

Because Eve isn't like other games, the majority of games almost exclusively feed you prepackaged content, Eve gives you the tools to create your own in addition to a little prepackaged content. As above if you feel the need to participate in ranked matches with leader-boards etc then by all means go ahead and organise them.

Not only in your alliance, any small corporation can do. It's fun and challenging, people no doubt like that. But it's not even close to big hard contest what it can be.

Two years has not changed the core of eve,
yes the barrier for entry is lower than ever but instanced pvp is still as anethema to it now as it was then.

You have the ability to organise activities such as the one you suggest within the rules of the game, if you don't like those rules, which allow for the possibility of underhandedness in every player activity, then don't play in the sandbox.

We already have an arena, it's called New Eden. You should also try rereading what I posted as you appear to have missed the salient points regarding content delivery and creation and how Eve differs from the majority of games in that respect.

Yes but Jita is still just another system, in gameplay terms its no more instanced than any other system.

I can see your line of thinking, it isnt difficult to empathise with you, i just happen to disagree with you wholy entirely and truly.

If you want organised ,instanced ,inconsiquential and relativly private pvp, use sisi.

No, ive seen what instanced pvp does to games. There is no such thing as fair...not in life, not in war, and not in eve. Someone will always have a better ship, fit, skills, buddy, more experienced, better tactician. You will find a majority of eve players will not go for arena style pvp.


We like the general concept of eve. We dont want it to be more like WoW or whatever the "tweens" are playing these days. We dont want ships with the exact same stats dueling it out while we mash F1. The only controlled environment we want to pvp in, is the one we control.

All this idea does is dumb down pvp into a snoozefest in a controlled environment. If you want a controlled pvp environment you are free to create one. singularity is a great place to set up your own arena. Maybe you should look into it.

Schedule events on the test server like a mini championship!
Doesnt mess up eve, player run and driven, and can still be fun! (Plus no risk!)

You find your niche and keep that as your core, but you eventually diversify to start mitigating risk and adding other profit channels. More specifically you hope that the customers you brought on with the diversified products eventually move to your core niche product as they become more loyal to the brand. Thus building brand loyalty and the all important word of mouth advertising as they tell their friends, coworkers, and random people who ask how great your products are. You clearly has never run a business.
