Update to EVE Launcher GUI v. 1.968

EDIT: Launcher GUI has been updated to 1.973 to fix CPU issue. Please restart the launcher or press the spinning blue icon to refresh the GUI to that version.

There is an update to the launcher GUI today that will affect the way accounts are stored and logged in.

- Accounts no longer link to each other, but are rather saved to a generic list.
- Player can log into all saved accounts by logging into any account.
- Upgraded localforage to 1.4.2
- Set up a more explicitly named, versioned IndexedDB
- Set up simple migration between old IndexedDB and new IndexedDB
- Launcher tries to merge all saved accounts into the new list
- Adding a button to reload the interface when an update is detected - in favor of the old auto-reload implementation
- News list updates more promptly now and only when an update is detected
- Smaller server polling introduced to save data usage

Attention:In some cases, stored account names and settings may be lost and have to be re-entered.

We are aware of an issue regarding server certificates and the AdGlare service. We will continue to monitor and focus our efforts on fixing this issue.

You maybe should have mentioned that the launcher forgets every stored account. :/

And does not keep at least one account name preselected...

And how do I reliably add accounts to that "generic list"? I just tried repeatedly to log in my accounts as follows:

  • Logged in 3 of my accounts individually after this annoying total reset.
  • Closed the launcher.
  • Opened the launcher and logged one account back in and found that only 2 accounts were logged in, the one I entered the credentials for and another account.
  • Logged a missing account back in individually.
  • Closed the launcher again, opened it again, entered the same account's credentials as in step 3 and again only found the same 2 accounts logged in as in step 3.
How to fix that?

Yeah nLock. I mean GG on the launcher update, some really nice features have been added to it in the past few months....

but twice now I lost all my accounts in this list which were ordered by expiration date.

I hope now we are able to save this list in some manner.


** atleast the account names are still remembered by the autofill **

And this just broke the launcher.

Won't save my accounts and it reset all settings.

EDIT: Got it to save the accounts. Closing the launcher twice and it started saving my accounts.

CPU usage for the Launcher is upwards of 45%. How is bogging down the CPU going to "improve multi-account handling"?

Yeah, but that's not what I mean.
Every account I had stored before the update was gone. Entering all that login data again is what I don't like.

No problems here.
Logged in each of my 6 accounts (clicked the Remember box). I had to supply the character name for a couple of accounts "that hadn't logged in from that IP address before" (despite having been logging in from those same computers on the same modem using the same ISP for nearly 2 years now - frakken annoying).

After making sure each user had the correct profile assigned to it I clicked the "refresh" button. Then I closed the launcher and tried reopening it and logging in to some accounts. Works fine on both computers.

Yeah seriously, no wonder my cpu was cooking all of a sudden..

2 clients running and they dont even consume that much cpu power. It's weird.

Also, it forgot all my accounts as well.

Since the update, I've had to re-enter my account details for all accounts every 30 or so minutes.

EDIT: No more such issues since this post.

Seriously, CCP; What are you doing ? Why are you "improving" the launcher and not having some sort of strategy to mitigate release risks like

: Early release test group (like say 2000 users for a week) or
: Have Plan B so people can still manually log in when there client says " stupid messages like unable to connect

I'm on Windows 10 64-bit

The first account I add does this http://i.imgur.com/RujOBGR.png

Any subsequent accounts get added properly, including the first account. Adding it again created the account name and start options correctly.

When will you change the layout to better utilize space like http://i.imgur.com/XwLKH8Z.png or http://i.imgur.com/fjWK7Xh.png

There is a small icon in the bottom-right half of the launcher interface where you can change the layout.
