o/ ppl,

I just returned in game after about a year break, and I found that a bunch of stuff have changed in game. Although I went through most of the patch notes I would like your input to see what really changed and how this would affect the activities I engaged before the break. Any input appreciated.

So lets start :

1) Exploration. This was my main income, especially relic/data in mostly null/wh. I'm not really interested in the loot and stuff, but I noticed the map UI changed, and even after 2-3 days I still see my self being much slower than I used to. My skills are nearly maxed. I find scanning process, mostly due to the new "looks", more difficult. So any tips and tricks that will help with the new UI thingy?

2) I was in a corp manufacturing pretty much anything except t3 and titans. However my corp is in ruins and I saw the citadels. Do these have to be owned by corp? What happens if I set up one in hi sec, do I have to be wardec'ed to worry about protecting it? And do they burn fuel like POSes?

3) Incursions. Anything changed over the past year?

4) What happened with the sleepers roaming around hi sec? Any exciting change.

5) Finally I used to be in null somewhere in omist. But I guess things changed. If any1 can give a quick update on the "politics" would be nice:p

6) pvp I guess it will be more fun to figure it out on my own

Thanks o7

Just practice with the new scanning UI, you'll get the hang of it. It's really fast once you get used to it.

under the escape menu, you can turn off the new map and the new probe/dscan options. I know I have had them turned off since they were introduced.

At some point citadels will completely replace POSes, so in a year or so expect POSes to go away. Citadels have to be owned by a corp, they can only be attacked during specific vulnerability timers.

I can't speak to the rest given I'm rarely in HS or null for any length of time

Did you hear about capital rats? There are now dreadnoughts and titans that occasionally show up in belts and sites.

There is also talk of a drifter capital that will escalate in c5 and c6 wormhole anomalies. It will have the ability to warp off if not tackled after a certain time, and will be able to come to the aid of others in the same system. They have not been implemented yet, but...

Also on the drifter front, there are hives that have appeared around the cluster. These can be very interesting, or very dangerous. They apparently tie in with an interesting chronicle where the destruction of Caroline's Star caused the Jove Empire to become defunct and the Society of Conscious Thought to take the reigns of leadership on the Council. It is also the genesis of the Upwell Consortium efforts to make the structure changes.

I thought it was only dreads, not titans. I've seen dreads, but never seen a titan rat yet.

Don't be surprised if there's another war soon when they try to take it back.

Welcome back

1) Scanning is easier than before to scan the signatures down. There is no longer a deep space probe, which used to be very handy.

2) Citadel - You need to be in a player corp to put one up. And it can be destroyed during a war dec. Many of the HS citadels are free to anyone, but I am sure you could arrange with your local citadel owner to get better deals if they do charge.

3) No incursions haven't changed in the last year

4) Some seekers may appear and if you shoot them their big brothers will come kick your ass.

5) Politics in null will never go away or change.

6) Some ships have changed, T3 Destroyers are the new meta with the svipul being the most OP of them all. SOE ships Astero -god for exploration and some pvp and the stratios came along, not sure when, with the Nestor BS. Guristas also have some new missile ships out, again, not sure if it was this year or if its older.

Your top item should be:
1) Highsec is James 315 sov space. Purchase a permit or you will die.

Isn't it: "The Uedama Gate is James 315 AFK Gank Space. Purchase a permit if you fly AFK with no tank."

The one and only time I ever got ganked was AFK in a capsule on the run to Osmeden. Flown mining ships, freighters through there many, many times with no problem.

This is a good recap. T3 Destroyers are a lot of fun. Second, Astero and Stratios are good robust exploration ships.

Even a cursory glance at CODE.'s killboard will quickly refute your lies. Poor miner, lying is so ingrained in your type that not even public information to the contrary will stop it.

You can check 'mine'. Loss of capsule to CODE. That's all. I'll make e-cards of my flights in a procurer through Uedama and send them on festivities. I've got few PVP kills on my main, I'd 'rock' an 'asteroid' kill-board though.

And miner's aren't poor but we're certainly filthy from all that space dust. I did +1 your post though :)

I don't mean to be rude, but I never liked CODE and there is no chance I'm buying silly permits :p When the day comes that I will have to get one of these, I will definitely quit the game lol.

Yeah I remember those ships before I stopped playing. Although to be honest i'm mostly doing relic/data sites. only used stratios for sleeper caches. I find them rather expensive for my habits. Besides my fav ship so far is anathema so...

As for t3 didn't try them yet. but will do in the next few weeks

Before gank: "I'm not buying the permit."
After gank: "I would have bought the permit if you had asked."

You can never pin a miner down on the truth.

Ehm check my killboard. not much of a miner....I think you guys only got a kill when I was like 2 months into the game. that's it...
