There are ways to circumvents being caught by this, OP just doesn't seem to want to make the effort.

I support space fortifications, a welcome change in-game content, helps stave off stagnation and boredness.

'If they take the ship, they'll rape us to death, eat our flesh, and sew our skins onto their clothing. And if we're very, very lucky, they'll do it in that order.'

Yeah, we're like that.

Getting a new shiney staves off stagnation and boredom? I really fail to see how this works here.

If we get chased by zombies, I'm tripping you.

Just out of curiosity...how long did your buddy sit there picking their nose?

It takes a pretty long time for a citadel to lock smaller ships.

Like...land in bubble, see citadel, turn around and burn out of bubble, warp off...all before it even finished locking you.

Just saying. It sounds to me like somebody died of stupid right there.

So what is the range of the Fortizar anyway?

Also, a citadel positioned to be a gaping maw of death on a gate bubble is rather funny.

It's like a gate camp that you know is there and can't move...

A normal gatecamp can be removed with some effort. But a gatecamp citadel needs much more firepower. I personally think that at least in NPC Null and low the ways between the gates should be free of permanent player structures. Gatecamps are a way to to play the game and anti-gatecamping action is another. Citadels are way out of reach for normal players to do something about.

Then you either pay mercaneries to fix your problems for you or you wait untill the "gatecamp" pisses off enough larger entities.
Im having trouble understanding why you need "protection" from player interaction in null security space....
Its like saying "theres a titan sitting on this gate 24/7 and i cant get through in my cruiser. Please make it so titans cant go near gate grids, so i can travel in safety!".
Theese people have payed many billions to put up this citadel as a trap and it isnt without any risk. I guess they were very lucky nobody saw it during anchoring, then it proberly would not have survived the reinforcement timer.
They invested time and money and are now harvesting tears.

I doubt anything will be done about this, unless a gatecamp pattern apears, all over nullsec.

Titans are worthless in a gatecamp for catching anything

These citadels were going to be put up regardless and now they're just a nuisance being able to be put on the same grid as gates

Must agree with you here Citadel spamming with Bubbles is a big abuse of the game mechanics. Will just have to wait until CCP fixes it. Although first they have to acknowledge the issue.
So fix inbound 2027
