I've been playing for maybe over a year. All of that time I have been living in Highsec. Good times. Not really. I need helping hand of advice from the pirate vets on how to get started. Maybe suggest a corp that could take me under there wings? Also, I pretty much have no clue on what skills to train in order to last in nullsec.

Travelling in null while being a pirate is the same as the real world scenario of going into a naval battle zone while being a pirate. Fleets shooting each other already, and then you sail in the middle and raise the pirate flag.

Lowsec still has some combat rules, and so the "pirates" and the prey are separated. Problem is that the prey doesn't go into lowsec much.

But null has no restrictions, so everyone is in an organized combat fleet. Everyone will shoot you on sight.

I'm not much of a pirate but I have given the occupation some thought.

It seems to me that it's less about WHERE you are, that sets the rules under which you pirate successfully. It would matter more 'how' you did it.

Again, this is all non-experience but the definition of pirate is living off of the resources that others get/gather. So in HiSec, that's the ganking sorts. In LoSec, you would have to be very cagey and have your routes to cruise around on.

Null, you'd have to find non-NPSI areas and watch the traffic closely to find out what you take down and what you can't.

Regardless, I would think the trick is to know when you've worn out your welcome and move on to the next hunting grounds, that is unless you join up with a pirate gang, then your just a corporate pirate.

So... join a pirate fleet?

You might get more tips on this if you asked in the C&P subforum rather than NCQ&A.

Not really. Quite a few of the regulars here are active in C&P too.
