in a level 1 security mission after taking out enemy drones i'm supposed to destroy an enemy drone silo. The only thing around me in deadspace is a drone infested asteroid. If this is my target how do u blow up an asteroid as my laser weapons do no damage. If not the target " SOS" i'm lost in space dohhhhh lol

Go to your overview setting and choose show all. You'll see more stuff.

Your Overview settings control what you see in space too. And the default Overview isn't set up to show you all the stuff in mission areas, or even all the ships, or all the PVP stuff. That's why there are so many guides for reconfiguring the Overview.

Specifically make sure your overview is set to show structures.
If these tips do not help you may have a problem with the mission itself if so you can file a support request to have the mission reset so you can start it over.

Alternatively you can simply quit the mission and suffer a minor loss in standings with the agent and move on.

Overview by default has an 'all' tab. Some people get rid of this to populate it with other stuff, I do not recommend that. It's useful for just this purpose.

Yea. Show all is good for missions. It is also good after a patch when your overview profile doesn't include the new ship or structure or whatever and you want to do a quick check if the settings are to blame.

1) Click on the horizontal lines next to the word “Overview” at the top of the Overview window, and select “Open Overview Settings”. Image

2) Select the “Tab Presets” tab, followed by the “Types” tab below it. Image

3) Click on "Entity" and check the box next to "Large Collidable Structure".

4) Click "Save" near the top of the window.

Now you can see structures of that sort in your missions.
