You do realize that this is General Discussion right? Where things are discussed generally. If you wanted to raise support to change a feature you should have went to Features and Ideas Discussions, where features and ideas are discussed.

Dozens? There are probably more people AFK in a system right now than people who have started a thread complaining about it.

It's not important. I want my curtains.

If someone can kill you or harm you in any way, or help someone else do so, or even relay intel, then they are not AFK.

You need to learn to play this game better.

This thread should be moved or locked. I'm issuing a troll rating of 3/10.

Holy Crap, no one told me you could extract tears by being AFK! All these years wasted when I could have been studying Punk Totem Poll carving.

We all know that denial of ratting to 0.0 dwellers (over time) will break the morale of smaller corps/alliances. It's a no-risk gaming technique and can be done by a 30 day alt fast asleep in bed. It's wrong, it's broken.

Gathering intel - an oft used reason to allow AFK cloaking - requires active participation and any decloaking mechanism would be no more than a minor inconvenience to an ACTIVE player.

This is just one potential solution.

There have been many other solutions put forward and I am positive CCP have it in their sights. They'd be stupid or very, very ignorant otherwise.

Your right it is a Tactic and it easily countered with good communication and an active alliance/corp. If your to lazy to bother to counter it why should CCP do it for you? You have no point as to why you can't and they should your just weak and should have your alliance corp fail if 1 guy in a cloaked ship can bring you to your knees.

Also petition CCP for your spine back, then come post with your main.

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.

No, it's a whined about topic that people have refused to solve on their own for a very long time because they're too lazy/stupid to make use of the myriad of tools at their disposal.

For an equally long time, the same whiners have had problems explaining what the actual issue is, and they adamantly refuse any attempt to go after the root causes of their issues.

Hell, the OP can't even explain why AFK:ing needs to be killed, so how on earth can it be even a slightly balmy issue, much less a hot one?

Yeah, I agree local should just be removed in null and delayed in low so a portrait there doesn't scare you.

Ask how many corps/alliances have a "do not rat/mine with cloaky in system" as SOP?

I know how to play this game quite well met worst.

Suppose Alice is in one of your systems AFK in a covert ops frigate, she says in local 'AFK be back later', Then goes to sleep for 8 hours, the goes to work for another 8 hours. During that time a large botting operation doesn't function because they don't know if Alice is AFK or not.

At the same time Bob is in a Tengu with a covert ops reconfiguration. He plays for 4 hours. First he gathers intel on your mining op and then relays that to your enemies who then come disrupt it, then he goes and ganks someone ratting, and after that he jumps to another system and cynos dozens of supercapitals on top of your fleet that was just forming. Tired, he flies to a safespot and logs off.

Alice was AFK for 16 hours
Bob was playing hard for 4 hours.
Who did more damage? When you can answer that, you can see why your whining about AFK cloakers looks so stupid to everyone else.

Whenever you undock you may also get blown up by any number of other players.

Still not seeing a problem here. Someone who is AFK can't do anything to you.

you want to see the end of the afk bombers,



remove local, now you cant instantly see everyone in your systems, now you have no need to fear that afk guy you cant see him.



and if you must keep your local, ( because you know its one of the BEST instant lintel tools in EvE)


useing a cloke removes you from local.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.
