Its one of the few things added to eve in a little while that sparks my interest enough to check out in awhile.

Im an older player but never made the move to null for personal reasons so im not blue to anyone. Lowsec will just be the usual cat and dog chase. Been looking for one in highsec to go check out and fly around but havent found one yet and the galaxy is too large to keep looking that way.

They're all over the place, perhaps you should look in the other direction your head's tilted in

It seems at least 16 have died so far, so they are certainly out there.

There are lots in high sec, even a few on the pipe between amarr/jita 1km from the gates (min safe anchor distance).

Click the = triple lines above your picture on the toolbar, for the full Start menu, and find the Structure Locator app that will tell you where all them citadels are. There are a few close to Jita, 2-3 jumps.

Two of which we killed.

Op check you have them on your overview and fly two jumps in any direction from pretty much anywhere.

Failing that there are freeported fortizars in ashab and perimiter with astrahouses poping up fecking everywhere.

Yes, you need two weeks to kill one as the last reinforce cycle is 6 days,
we found several we werent arsed pulling 3 cta's for.

They show up on overviews, if they're open to you, otherwise, they're in the probe window.

Make sure you've checked the box for them in the overview tab you want them in, and you'll start seeing them all over the place.

So they only survive by being too inconvenient to kill?
Have any survived by actually driving off the attackers?

Personally I wouldn't throw one out in hi-sec. The cheap one from what I see can't even fit a market. I have seen a ton of them up in high traffic areas so I assume people who often wardec or get dec'd in hi-sec found a use for these for camping. Other than that, most stations or systems provide everything else you would need for hi-sec life.

They are all over highsec, I have offices in a few of them. Travel off the beaten path and you will find them easily, as long as you have Citadels added to your overview.

Citadels dont drive off attackers. That's what the defending Corp/Alliance members are for.

The Citadel can help, but it's not something to set and forget. Players are still required to protect their asset.

Yes, but has that in fact happened? Has a corp or alliance that put up a Citadel actually defended it against an attack, and won? Or has every attempt to take down a Citadel in high sec been successful? (Assuming the attacker actually shows up.)

Has a Citadel, manned by just one person (no ships-in-space support, just the structure controller), driven off an attack?

It might have but a small corp of 1-5 people having the money to put one up and use it is slim plus the odds of said people being on the forums is even more slim. Depends on the size of the force that attacks you. If a small group of idiots or someone that misjudged there numbers needed or ability attacks you should be fine. If a large force that knows what they are doing attacks you're screwed. I wouldn't put one up unless part of a pretty good alliance personally.

And yes i have them checked in the overview settings. Learned that the hard way when i got attacked by a ship that wasnt in the overview ccp recently put in tje game once. Honestly new stuff should add automatically and have to ne removed.

small ones are what 2bil? any man and his dog can afford to plonk one down, hell the large is 24bil, only XL is out of reach.

CCP wanted them to be 600mil, 7bil and 120bil in costs to deploy, just a mineral bottleneck and demand are keeping the prices up, when they start to lower you will see large cits all over the place, hell if they fall to 8-9bil for a large i may plonk one down just for me just to say I have.
