Hi guys,
This might seem like a stupid question, but thought I'd ask anyway. When you are training up the recommended part, how do you know what new equipment you can now fit or add on? Example- I'm training up the rocket part of recommended for the Vengeance, you know, missile this, target something that etc etc. How do I know what type of rockets or launchers I will be able to fit after training it all up? There's so many different kinds and unless one knows what they are looking for, how else would anyone know they are able to fit it?
It'd be a good idea to have a little box or something that pops up and says "can now fit ABC launcher," or "XYZ Rocket."

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Best way is to just have set your market settings to only show what you can use. After you train something it'll show up in the market if you are able to use it. I used to toggle this so that I could look at what I can use and what skill I need to work on to use something else.

Downloading Eve Fitting Tool (EFT) should help you a lot with this. Easy to google or check the ships & skills forum

EveHQ is awesome as well. Has a ton of other features that I have yet to see in another eve application. Just google EveHQ. Its the first link at the top. Download link is to the bottom right.

Essentially if you train rockets at all you can use t1 launchers. If you train rocket spec at all you can use t2.

Same with heavy/light/torps/etc

Torp skill allows all t1 launchers while torp spec skill allows t2.....etc

EVEMon shows really nicely what items you can use with each skill level. You should be using this program anyway to plan you skill trainings ....

EVEMon is definitely a great resource for figuring out what gear you've opened up. You can open skills in their "Skill Explorer" and see what skills and what equipment are opened up at various levels of a skill. It is also very helpful for skill training because you can develop a list of all the skills you want, shift their order around, and generally make sure you don't forget anything you wanted to learn. (You can still miss important things because you're new and didn't know that skill X provided bonus Y, but that's the learning cliff for you.)

EVEMon will also automatically load in skills required before learning a new skill. So, since you need Targeting V to learn Multitasking, when you put Multitasking in your queue, EVEMon drops in Targeting I-V and makes sure they stay above Multitasking in the queue.

I also find EVE Fitting Tool useful for knowing what skill I need for gear. It tells you if you're missing skills for a particular piece of equipment you've put into your build. It also lets you modify the skill levels of your character to see how they will effect a ship build you're putting together.

You can also right-click on modules and show their information, which lists the prerequisites so you know what to shoot for.

As a good rule of thumb that I use, assume that the T2 variants of a module will require significantly higher skill level. The T1 variants may require level I skill and the T2 IV or V. It's often worth it if it's a module you use a lot, both for the bonuses from the skill and the better stats on the T2 module.

Great answers guys, thanks very much.

I'll be downloading those tools mentioned and I have also set the market up to reflect skills.
Thanks again guys.
