Hello,

It's been a while but I would like to once again invite to a Time for Tea, this time focusing on teas from the Minmatar Republic. The event will be held at 20:00 on the the 28th at the Empyrean Club.

For the evening we have invited the capsuleer Khaprice as our expert who will guide us through different kinds of teas and tea cultures from the Republic.

Tea isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the Matari but this does sound like an intriguing invitation. Thank you for opening this up to the public, I regularly enjoy a comforting tea when outside my pod so perhaps your friend Khaprice can recommend something new.

Provided my planetsite responsibilities don't keep me, I should be there on the 28th.

Just remember it's going to be hard to find anything even remotely representing the Tribes as a whole in that regard. There's a huge difference in preferences and culture between the Tribes, and when the Empire tried to eradicate our cultures, a whole lot were lost and the current state is a mish-mash of rediscovered, new, imported and half-remembered preferences and history.

If you want a broader picture, I'd add some coffee to the event. Sebiestor in particular tends to lean towards the complexities of that brew over tea, culturally.

I wake up crawling towards the roaster moaning 'Kaffaaaaak' every morning.

There are cultural differences at the subtribe, location, and clan levels too. I'm looking forward to going to this thing! It won't be less a learning and discovery experience for me (Desokul, Gelfiven, Lunhis, Vherokior) than trying teas from all the way across the cluster.

Permitting a breach of cultural etiquette, I may be able to bring some Caldari tea, with samples held in high regard by our 'ruling' corporations if you would permit me.
I even have access (although not fully legalPirate) to some preserved and revered teas dating back to the 21st century, although I believe they would serve only as a museum pieces as I'm certain their lively flavours would indeed have suffered after the millennia's of storage.
They may not have the culturally enriched back ground of your Matari teas, but our customs and serving techniques may provide some matter for discourse amongst the discerning brewer and consumer.

Please let me know your thoughts and if I should set aside some cargo room next time I fly past.

We will be endevouring to present an option of teas at the event. As a fan of the coffee I was introduced to, I will be ensuring there is Kaffaak available to attendees.

Of course we cannot introduce the entite wide range of teas and tea cultures present in the Republic, but that is not our aim for a one evening event. The aim is a brief introduction to a small sample, hopefully increasing interest by the guests in doing their own further explorations, just as with the other events presenting a small selection of the huge variety of Federation, Achur and Ni-Kunni teas.

Tea I didn't drink much of during my stay in the Republic. Hmm, maybe I should host a "Time for Sewage Brew" event...

Anyways, I'd love to set that right. I'll do my best to attend.

If someone markets you sewage as 'traditional Minmatar drink' and you bought it...

I am sorry to tell you that you had been swindled.

Oh, don't worry. In my moments of lucidity I was fully aware of what I was purchasing and why.

If you are insinuating that coffee is 'sewage' I am going to stop my bouts of binge-gaming and gardening and actually undock my ship and...

I want to express my thanks, to Khaprice for her detailed explanations, and to the Empyrean Club staff who were hosting us.
While I'm not specially fond of tea, my evening was both interesting and enjoyable.
