what is sold with a character? and other general questions

Having gone to the character bazaar and snooped around a bit I have come to the conclusion that the top sticky only lists the rules regarding character sale and no other information and, that I am unsure whether I am allowed to post general questions in that forum.

After trying to search all of the eve forums I have found that I probably don't know enough basic programming to use the search function as I have only had any luck getting any returns to my query by using only one word at a time. Which is nearly useless.

Therefore I am posting here. Besides being lambasted for posting in the wrong sub forum and not searching correctly, it would be awesome if some of you could actually answer my questions. While I understand that it's tempting to make yourself feel superior by lording over someone less experienced than you on an internet forum, I would like to encourage choosing a different tact by offering to pay in game ISK to the first person to answer each of my questions in a helpful manner.

I will start with the first things to come to mind.

1. Is there a current resource somewhere that will fill me in on what is transferred with a character sale?

2. Is there a current resource that will describe the transfer process in detail?

3. Can someone explain, step by step, how I might search for more than one term at a time in the forums?

Now that I think about it, if those 3 questions are answered I will have far less questions to ask here. So I guess that's it for now.

Take your chances. But there will be reward. After the first payment, you may be motivated to answer a second question.

Regarding Character sales.

Everything the character owns will be transferred with the character, however...

You cannot sell these items with the character - that is, you cannot inflate the price or say that you are selling the items along with the character. The only exceptions to this are:

1. Implants (inluding implants currently in Jump clones (screen shot to be included in the post preferrably as scams in the character bazaar are not allowed, so no saying 'I have 10 bil of implants in my clones' when you dont))
2. Skins - again, preferably a screenshot showing the skins on your toon.

Anything outside these 2 items is basically stuff you are giving free when you transfer the character and cannot even be listed in your Bazarr post.

The transfer process is as follows::

1. You agree a price with someone - either on the bazaar forum or through eve mails - basically this acts as a written record regarding the price of the transfer. (note that the character being transferred MUST be in an NPC corp at the time of the initial posting on the bazaar, and until the transfer process has been set in motion - you cannot transfer a toon if it is not in an NPC corp)
2. The buyer sends ISK to the character being purchased, along with the account NAME that they want the character transferred to (preferably via eve-mail)
3. You then transfer that ISK to one of your main characters - if you forget to do so, CCP will reimburse this as they dont want people getting a toon PLUS their ISK back.
4. You then stop the training queue on the character you sold (cant be transferred with an active skill queue)
5. If you are transferring the toon using PLEX, your character needs to have 2 PLEX in the REDEEMING system - not in its inventory - buy or give it 2 PLEX, right click on them and select 'return to redeem items'
6. Log out of your account and log into eve account management.
7. Go to Services > Character transfer
8. Select the character to be transferred and type the name of the account that the character is being sent to.
9. You will then be taken to the payment page. Either input your credit card details, or select the (almost hidden) option below the CC details that says 'Select alternate Payment method' - this will then allow you to select the PLEX in the redeem items for the payment.

Once finished, the person you are sending the toon to will receive an email from CCP saying they have received a character transfer and will be able to access teh character in 10 hours.

You have now done all the work you need to do.

When you try and log in, you will still see the character on your login screen, but will not be able to log in to it.
After 10 hours have passed, the character will disappear from your account and be available for the other person on their account.

IIRC all assets, orders, mailbox, contacts, bookmarks and wallet history are transferred. Contract history is wiped.

Awesome. Thank you 3. This is exactly the info I was having a hard time finding. I would have gotten lost in steps 3-9 and defaulted on the deal then I would have been in trouble.

I will make sure to empty all my particulars before the sales. Besides pixels-on-screen sensitive EVE information in my mailbox, there is also genuinely sensitive real life info, such as corp mates vent logins, personal phone #s and addresses. While I realize communicating on that level in a game is probably hopelessly shortsighted, I would have to assume it goes on regularly. One would think it would be a glaring warning in the character bazaar.

I know it's not much, but I sent what I could and hope it expresses my appreciation adequately. If it does not, then I am in Azedi in a Rifter for about the next 70 days. But only for about 20 minutes a day. Happy hunting.

Oh, I used to buy and sell characters to make ISK. You wouldn't believe some of the things people forgot to delete.
