Im sorry for the rant but its true, the gap between older and younger player is so large that in the eyes of most newbies its not worth committing, asking for years to wait is insane, most of the vets didnt have to do it because they didnt have super players acting as their overlords

No, i am just bitter, im 21 million sp and i can still do barely any crap, i was told at this point is when the game gets good, half decent isk wouldnt be so difficult to earn.....etc
Eves a great game but that sp gap really gets me sometimes.

Months at most IMO, and with the skills new characters start with now, even less time.
In hindsight I wasted a lot of my first year by not focusing, but try to figure what you want to do first and the skill towards it.

There's your problem

You insist on defining yourself by how many skill points you have, not on what you can accomplish with what you've got

It's not that you have 21 mil sp and still cant do anything, it's the fact that even with 21 mil sp to HELP you, you are still sh°t at the game, I did plenty to have a good time with a fifth of your sp. Now I have 27 mil sp, but all that really dictates is which ships I can fly now. Skill is 90% of the game, but it seems that yours is lacking so all thats left is sp, which doesnt account for much.

Results are as expected.

Are you at all running level 4 FW missions or going on the offense and trying to take plexes? I mean LP is one of the best ways to make plenty of isk in FW, and being in a corp that is half decent should make it even easier. There are people that can easily make a billion or so without much effort.

You might however prefer a less hostile environment where you can make isk for your fw endeavors. Running level 4's, DED's, ratting in lo or null, etc... these are decent ways of making isk on the side as well and you won't need years to make that a reality. But you do need to be prepared for fw and the losses you are going to endure, and have plenty of isk to blow for that alone.

So 6% of those billboards actually fought back successfully? Other than that I have no idea why you would have been complaining at all if you are 'that' good at pvp.

If you "cant do anything" @ 21m SP, you've managed to train completely useless skills.

I thought I had misread this as "New Player Retardation", but if you're losing fights to unarmed, stationary billboards then that might have been a better title for this thread after all. Seriously though, 21m skillpoints is more than enough to be effective in this game, as long as you take the time to learn the mechanics of how things work. You won't be completely optimal in some areas, but that's not as important as developing ACTUAL skill.

I wish I could read the original post, I'm curious as to what it said. Anyway I hope things work out for you.

Is doing a lvl 1 quest to kill 5 wolves less fun than a lvl 100 quest to kill 5 dire wolves?

You don't need to wait, you don't need fancy ships, expensive nonsense or anything. any newbie can make it here, and fairly quickly as well, as long as he puts in the effort. There's lots of examples of newer, low SP, players doing it right, making it big and getting well known.

As long as you keep giving yourself boring numerical goals (isk, sp) then the game will be boring. Instead find something funky to do and go do that, with all your effort. It'll work out. It's not about skill points and the game doesn't suddenly become fun or "better" at some SP threshold.
