Frequently at Fan Fest or in announcements, CCP points out you don't really quite eve, you just take a break. Though with skill injectors you can now completely gut a character, so they may be shooting themselves in the foot here.

In any case, I think CCP should consider making a tool for returning players, where you can enter the date you took a break, and it maps that to an expansion, then it shows you sequentially the updates from that point on up to the current day.

It sucks when you come back and there are new skills you need or new ships you have no idea what they are. Sometimes these things have been in the game so long everyone takes them as a given. Lowering the bar to returning for players would probably make it easier for people to resub.
