First WH POS - C1/2

Hey everyone,

I'm new to WH space and planning to move into a C1 or C2. Looking for some POS setup advice,

I've done a bit of research myself and settled on an Amarr Control Tower. Eventually I may upgrade to faction but want to start out with racial tower for learning purposes.

I will be doing some PI to help fund fuel costs, and I would like to have some BPs researching. Eventually I may want to build a BS or two as well in the C1.

Here's what I've come up with so far: POS Fitting

I know you guys will give me honest feedback. What makes no sense, what am I doing correctly?

Thanks!

Pos are going the way of the dodo. I wouldn't upgrade to a faction one, just a prettier kill. Also factor in pocos for the planets. Pi should break you even on fuel cost but don't expect to make a mint unless you have ALOT of Alts.

Also, battleships can't enter or leave c1 wormholes, so unless your going to repackage them for transport, building bs's in one isn't advisable. You can run c1 and most c2's in a cruiser/battlecruiser.

Regarding the fit, I would add 1 Webber. Basically prevents someone from trying to speed tank the turrets. Besides that it's a typical build.

In 2 to 3 months I would consider deploying a citadel, once all the "murder them all" and the price drops.

That pos should last you till you switch over. If it is meant to hold more than 6 different individual pilots, I'd consider throwing a advanced xl ship assembly array as it has a lot more storage.

Fits fine though.

Yaay!!!!

Perfect thanks for the advice, glad to hear it will work out. I'll add the web as well! My thoughts around the BS building is more for defense, and/or running sites in my home system. May hold off on that though, will have to see how everything goes.

Hopefully around that 6 month mark I can afford to throw up the citadel.

The battleships as defense is overkill. Unless you are launching 30 of them with rep support you'll just be a bigger target. If someone does decide to siege your pos, the battleships probably won't help. They will if someone decides to drop a offensive pos or citadel in your hole but.. Eh chances of that happening are fairly slim.

You can run the sites in cruiser and battlecruiser t1 ships. Battleships a bit excessive. If you can't figure out which ship, bring a drake.

Good to know. Will save myself some time and resources not building BS.

Will be running the sites in a prophecy at the moment, maybe a legion further down the road.

Put this together for it. I can fly a drake but its just to boring for my taste.

Puts out ~600DPS with a 220/580dps tank with the Anc running. W/ heat on both can tank up to 710DPS for 4 minutes. In practice will be less with the paste but still hoping I can fight off the occasional gank.

You wont be able to fight off the occasional gank. If anyone mildly competent is on grid with you and has you webbed and pointed your done. You can however massively increase your chance to prevent / evade the gank by..

- rolling your connections before you start.
- watching for new sigs.
- if your in your static, a alt on residents POS.
- and most importantly... always watch dscan. If you see any new ships especially a sabre etc then warp immediately to a safe spot and then to your POS. (if your in your static refit for a cloak at your safe spot, pull depot, warp to another safe and cloak. Then wait for gankers to get bored)

In that case do you suggest I just fit purely for PVE? If I'm going to run and cloak any time something pops on dscan I don't really need the ewar.

Also I'm just curious, why wouldn't I at least attempt to fight back.

Because any ganker semi competent will

a) have cloaky eyes on you or if your at a signature (not anom) atleast know your ship type and that your likely alone.

b) Will prepare their gank fleet in advance so they have the numbers and ship types so you have no chance of escaping or defending once they land on grid with you and get tackle.

Fit your ship for max PVE efficiency while retaining a GTFO ability.
