As there is a thread about this entire subject, I'll read up on the subject there and make further posts. Wish there was a delete button somewhere but either I'm blind or that is another feature request.

Oh geeesh, NOT this again, another poor stealthy complaint by an NPC school alt becuz we can be afk all day long and not bother you unless we darn well feel like it. Your idea has no merit, so......no.

Hello,
I just wanted to complain about the horrible game mechanic that is known as "afk cloaky compers".

If you are new to the game or dont know what I'm referring to, then this is a short explanation:
In 0.0 systems it is common that people leave cyno equipped cloaked alts that they leave AFK in systems for days, weeks, months. They just leave them logged on while doing basically nothing on the characters.

This makes it hard for people to be active in systems mine/rat/etc because every now and then they actually check their alt and take them out to drop on something.

While it should be appropriate risk/reward in 0.0, punishing people yet again who actively want to play or do something by letting other people be afk in systems for weeks is not a good mechanic.

I have of course a suggestion that could solve this in a good way without doing anything dramatic against cloaking modules.
A module that is attachable on citadels, which damages cloaking devices 1% every minute they are activated within the solar system. So if you want to camp systems, its still possible as 1% every minute lets you be cloaked for pretty damn long; but still makes you vulnerable every now and then (to repair the module etc). The module is damaged by 1% as soon as you activate the device so you can't "game" the system. It should also be attachable to any size Citadel and will damage both allied and enemy cloaking devices alike.

It's always funny when someone complains about afk cloakers while posting from a "forum cloaker" aka npc alt. I doubt anyone is cloaking up in Seibestor space lol

This is where your nonsense needs to be posted.

Lets not pretend to be clever here, we all know what would happen if I complained about something like this with my main, I barely even rat anyway so its not much of a problem for me just a general annoyance.

Also, I didnt know there was a big thread about hte subject, how do I delete this post?

I think if your paranoia is to the level of not doing something in a system because that 1 other person in system is causing your heart to go into palpitations, then you need to find something else to do.

I suggest you:

• Turn up your "Warp volume" in the audio options so that anyone warping in nearby is heard before they are even on your scopes. Immediately hit your Dscan if they don't show up immediately.

• Either stay aligned to an exit or stay at max velocity when doing your 'thing'.

• Use the smallest, cheapest, ship that is capable of doing whatever it is you do. You'll miss it less if you lose it.

• Play the game alertly. If you start to fade, dock up, deal with yourself relax a moment, then undock and hit it again refreshed.

• Last but actually rule #1: Don't fly what you can't afford to lose.

If you do the above, whomever else is in system shouldn't bug you. You just up your alertness level.

Service module possibilities: Being able to increase, decrease or block Star Map filters in the solar systems they’re deployed, act as solar system wide D-scan blockers, disrupt ship intelligence in the solar system, take over player tracking capabilities from NPC agents or be able to affect or pinpoint cloak users. We are considering basing their effectiveness through a network coverage (like cell phones) so that a single one may not be that useful, but maintaining a bunch of them in space could give a significant advantage.

Rigs possibilities: anything affecting the duration or effectiveness of what’s mentioned above.

You know, it's people like you that actually ruin the game. You spread your terrible attitudes, troll, and act incredibly self involved and honestly do nothing more then to push people away from the game. I suppose that is what some of you want isn't it? If we aren't part of your cute little elitist club we just aren't entitled to be in your special little game are we?

Please point out exactly what elitist club it is that I apparently have membership with, as I for one would dearly like to know. If, by that remark, you are commenting on my NPC alt comment, then am I correct in assuming that the elite club of which you speak is comprised of 10K ISK and a crappy lvl1 skill?

Is this not supposed to be a game of consequences? What about the 'Butterfly Effect' trailer from a few years ago (which was awesome)? Where are the consequences if one produces nonsense (sometimes just that, nonsense, but occasionally quite serious), yet cannot be served righteous justice in game? With no attachments or references to one's reputation, the forums would be filled with NPC alts extruding all sorts of crap.

The fact is, the AFK cloaking whines are endless and it would appear that CCP agrees with this position, as any new ones that crop up are generally locked pretty sharpish by the mods. I would wager that they do this because they recognise them for what they are: meaningless rants that contribute nothing to the general discourse of the game.

I suspect that, if my sometimes off-topic and irreverent posting is upsetting you and ruining this game for you, you may have bigger problems on the horizon.

I like this idea. It will be nice have some module that damages activated modules in system.
But as trade of we need another passive module. If this module is fitted on ship this ship doesn't apear on lacal.

You have a really interesting way of defending your poor behavior. I believe you filled your post with so many twists and turns I had a hard time keeping track. And apparently they are responding to these concerns with the option to possibly locate these cloaky campers with many different structures put up around a system. I assure you the butterfly effect will still exist regardless even if you remove everyone you deem unworthy of your precious little club.
