Hi. Returning player.

Been a while since active and many years ago i've run incursions, but wanna get back into it, preferable on the Armor fleets however shield fleets can work. But i can not find any info on the incursion running groups and most posts i find are from 2012 or so. So anyone able to push me in the right direction? Thanks! Big smile

www.google.com

click in the search bar

type in EVE Incursion Community

Click on links (most have their own websites)

if still nothing in found, repeat the above but add another terms such as "armor" or "shield"

if still nothing is found, try Yahoo.com.

If you do not have access to either site, find the nearest incursion in-game and go there. Ask in the incurssion chat window that pops up and you will get links.

TVP - shield group
TDN - armor
Warp-to-me - no idea

Edit: TDF is armor not TDN

Warp to me is newbro friendly, also shield fit.

Are the armor communities still active? I haven't seen much from them either way in a while.

I would say, that armor fleets became even more popular lately. Seen a lot of them. But most of them are VG size, some AS. There are not many HQ size armor fleets and those that do run, do it only occasionally.

I am running with Armor-1 community lately, but as it is Russian speaking, it might be not the best option for everyone. You might check the channel Incursion Public which has a list of most active incursion communities and probably you'll find the one which will fit the best for you.

I think only TDF does HQ armor fleets and they don't run as often as the shield fleets. Someone explained the difficulty of matching lock times or something on the logi for armor I forget.

There is an ingame channel called "incursion public" that has a list of most communities out there i think.
probably a good place to start for looking for communities and could possibly ask questions in there.
Also keep in mind that ships in favor from 2012 might not be in favor and vice versa.

I would suggest finding a corp that does it. Most communities aren't going to let a newbro or really anyone who is new to incuirsions go with them and even if they do you have to get in line and wait

FC, what do?

Incursion running corps are rare for one (I have been running VG sites with my corp few years ago though). And constant running of Incursions with corp will most probably get you war deced. Therefore those who do run incursions usually are in their own corps or do it on their alts to avoid harassing.

Tales about lines aka queue or wait list for fleets are overrated as if you'll be running incursions constantly and become known in community you'll eventually get to the active fleet quite fast, especially if you'll be taking some active roles in fleet, or at least be active and do your job well. "Big lines" are excuses of lazy people who want to get "big ISK" fast without doing a thing IMHO.

And there are plenty of communities that are really open to new players and it's easy to join them. For example "Warp to Me" runs almost 23/7, they are newbro friendly and they don't have big wait list usually... they are not very profitable as well though, as teaching newbros is not always easy and profitable... but anyway running Incursion with newbro friendly fleet will often be more profitable for said newbro, than other types of activities.

TDF is not the only Armor community that runs HQ fleets - Armor 1 does them too, but as mentioned above these are occasional. Runing HQ with armor format is bit different and takes some knowledge form FC, but it has own benefits. For example HQ armor fleet usually has Nestors as logists which allows to refit ships on a go and adds some quite beneficial options: for example snipers can refit into higher DPS guns on tower bash, switch drone types or certain module types and so on. And if fleet has enough Nestor pilots it can run with as few as 4 logists filling all other spots with damagers (when it's common to have 6-8 logists in shield). So with right managing armor fleets might be very lucrative. Nevertheless shield fleets been more popular for a long time and it does not change fast.
