Ideas to balance carebears and non-combat ships.

The OP's problem is that he's only played about two percent of this game. He says that bubbles can work in low/null sec which means he has never been to either or he's an ex-NC titan pilot.

In Eve, if you're in a fair fight then one of you has done it wrong. If you're in an industrial ship in a fight then that person is you. The balance between combat and non-combat ships is the combat ships try to catch non-combat ships and non-combat ships try not to be caught. No further balancing is needed.

Atticus Fynch, your homework assignment is to research these topics and then understand why you are wrong:
  • Log in traps
  • Agression and logoff mechanics
  • Cloak + MWD trick
  • Warp disruptor bubbles especially their use as drag bubbles
  • Titan bridge mechanics
  • Freighter insta warps
  • How to scout
  • Gate and cyno bridge mechanics
  • Station insta warps

How about the OP stop autp piloting his badge of goodies so he don't get ganked.

Pretty sure a good Crane pilot can't get caught.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

Repeating this for the benefit of the simpleton OP:

QFT.

Not 20 minutes before writing this post, got accosted by a guy in a lowsec system. Luck was on my side, as I was flying a tanked Occator... so first volley went through about 30% of my shields...

Got away because the guy wasn't prepared to deal with the +2 warp strength ...

edit --> goddamn Phobos caught me on Sunday Cry

oh well, nothing's gonna save you from an infini-point.Cool

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Battleship vs Transport ---> who wins? The battleship if the Transport pilot is being an idiot.

I am not asking for a free pass for non-combat ships as some of you seem to think.. I am asking for more varied and stronger defenses for them and perhaps exclusive to that class only. They would then become a challenging target instead of a pushover victory.

Fixed it for you.

Take the proper precautions and your stupid losses won't happen. Like tanking Exhumers and mining aligned (and not mining during Hulkageddon)...

Scouting ahead with your Freighter.

Losing a Transport is just ********, you're untargetable when you undock for ages, more than enough time to get outside 2000m of the station. If you wanna be more careful make some insta-undocks in a frigate beforehand so you can instawarp when you undock...

tldr: don't do combat in industrials. your tank in industrials is avoiding combat using in game intel and real life intelligence.

Battleship vs Freighter ---> who wins? The battleship, because of the nature of the ships. Pilot skill does not come into play and if "running away" is a skill, the perhaps we should have a skillbook for it.

Battleship vs Exhumer ---> who wins? The battleship, because of the nature of the ships.

Battleship vs Transport ---> who wins? The battleship (if you are not fast enough with the cloak button or cant cloak due to 2000m limit like when undocking), because of the nature of the ships.

Scenarios:

Battleship vs Battleship --->who hauls more? The Battleship

Battleship vs Freighter ---> who hauls more? The Freighter, because of the nature of the ships.

Battleship vs Exhumer ---> who mines more? The Exhumer, because of the nature of the ships.

Battleship vs Transport ---> who hauls wins? The Transport, because of the nature of the ships.

... see what I did there? Prolly not.

Let's put this in real life terms. A slow-moving cargo freighter is crossing the ocean and is shot at by ships upwards of ten kilometres away. It has no defences anyway, and should have accounted for the risk before setting off.

You want balance? Stop jumping haulers around solo in lowsec and, like any competent corp, get an escort.

Who dies in a cloaky transport to a battleship ? I would be amused to see that KM

Battleship vs Freighter , if you get yourself in this situation then you are doing something wrong.

This is gold, pure gold. Please Atticus, keep it coming. I don't care if this is an elaborate troll, or if your mother dropped you on your head a few too many times when you were a baby, this thread is pure awesome.
