Bonjour,

I am looking to get into ratting in the Providence area of nullsec, which I am aware has Sansha NPC rats. I've ratted in highsec with my worm for quite sometime, but I am stuck with what to use for ratting in Sansha nullsec. I can sit in any T1 subcap, including faction and nullsec, and have a budget of around 900 million isk to build this ship and fit.

Could someone please advise me on the most suitable hull that I should use for ratting in NPC null, regarding the budget. Thanks.

My refexes want to shout "Zealot" (just because it´s sexy) but probably everything will melt down to Ishtar or #randommissileboat.

Yeah, I will be able to fly one effectively in about a month. I was also wondering about the Legion, and whether that could be viable?

Vexor Navy - don't over pimp it as you will die often before you catch up most important stuff.

Any ideas for a fitting for a vexor navy? I've heard it needs to be able to tank a lot in nullsec sites

If you can use a worm, Gila and Rattlesnake are the next options. Both are great, but rather expensive and you will eventually get shot at in null, especially provi.

VNI is good but really limited and slow and now that the best anoms spawn NPC capitals form time to time, you may lose them easily.

IMO a good middle ground between the above options is t1 battleships (Dominix, Raven, Typhoon) or Attack Battle Cruiser (Oracle or Tornado). The Domi is tough and survivable and versatile. The Typhoon and Raven let you keep long range away from both rats and potential bad guys trying to kill you. The Battleships can mount MJDs which can help you even more.

The Oracle is a great newbro friendly long range ratting ship that is less painful to lose. When a friend of mine went to provie I gave him a fit like this from EVE university:

Yo, I've been ratting in sansha space for a while and it seems like missile and drone boats are the best to do anoms. And probably clear belts as well if that's what you call ratting.

Sansha tracking disrupt and have a very good dmg projection at long distances, so lazorz (altrough I love them) and guns in general are bad, 2-3 TD's and can't hit anything.

Idk about small ships for belt ratting, probably any faction frig can kill belt spawns (killed sansha in navy comet, daredevil, succubus etc.) but the dps is sort of low and tank is terrible (good for manual piloting lessons). Omen navy makes short work of belt rats and is enjoyable to fly, even if its some sort of shield buffor nano pvp fit.

For cruisers, Gila is awesome, pushing over 500 dps with drones alone (700 with missiles), if you can use heavy drones, vexor navy offers better tank (sig radius, speed) and more drone dps, it's also cheaper.

Battleship- rattlesnake, 1.5k dps, can tank anything from anomalies to sansha 10/10. Comes with terrible allign time and a 100% hotdrop bonus thou. Not recommended for start, it could also go over your budget. Stuff like ravens, machariels, typhoons works too, but not significantly better than a VNI. Nightmare offers epic dps but to make it work (tracking disruptors, high incoming dps) you need probably 1.5b...

Pm me in game for gila and VNI fits if you want.

Greetings, if you are still concidering ratting in Provi, I should probably point out to you that the corporation you just joined is on our KOS list, so you would be freely engaged by the locals.

Just a heads up.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Thanks, I am aware and am running up an alt to be able to rat in Provi space. Thanks for all your help!
