Drone Agro still bugged?

Been loving carrier ratting since the citadel expansion/carrier changes patch, however in the last couple days the rats have been perma agroing my fighters. I pull them in to draw agro, send the fighters back out and with in seconds, ALL of the rats target my fighters.

This is similar to the bug from a couple months ago that I thought had been resolved. Is this happening to anyone else? I tried some of the other tricks, like ejecting out of your ship and getting back in, etc. But no luck.

Yep it's working as intended. If your main source of damage is from drones / fighters, wouldn't it be logical to kill them first? I sure would. So are the rats.

I'm pretty sure its not 'working as intended'. If it was, there would be no reason touse drones/fighters. I do understand that the drones/fighters will draw some ago. but in the past, its agro from some of the rats (usually the frigates), not ALL rats. And with the fighters, if you hit their MWD to pull them in quick, it balloons their sig radius so the battleships that are agro'd on them hit harder and kill them before they can make it back some times.

Again, this was not happening up until about 2 days ago for me. And it was a similar bug that happened a few months ago that kind of comes and goes for some. I was mainly checking to see if it was happening to anyone else currently.

Rats will generally go after drones of their own "class" (for want of a better word) or larger, e.g. frigates go for smalls and larger, cruisers go for mediums and larger and BS's go for heavies and larger; this has been the case for a number of years now.

If you're using fighters then yep everything is going to go after your drones.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

This is just how aggro works now. Often when I'm using the Rattlesnake the entire pocket will switch from me to the Gecko because it's doing so much damage. In fact that's why I still use a Gecko instead of augmented Ogres, it can take much more of a beating.

You should have some kind of EWAR protection for your drones/fighters. When I include an EWAR drone with my hunter pack, it also targets the ship targeting the drones if you have focus fire. I let the drones defend themselves. I only pull a drone in when it's shields are at about half. Then after regen of the shields, I pop it back out.

Drone ships are a lot of maintenance in a fight, I can only imagine what a PITA a carrier is.

Lol pop on a civilian blaster and watch how the aggro stays on your ship. Aggro mechanic in nutshell and yes it's working as intended.

Carriers can't

And ships that are drone focused typicaly fit better guns or missiles.
