Split all globally visible types to on-grid and off-grid copies.
For example, current "Stargate" can be replaced by "Stargate (on-grid)" and "Stargate (off-grid)". First for camps, second for travel.

Maybe I'm a bit simple-minded, but what advantage would this offer?
