Spreadsheets for product absence

Afternoon all

Been a while since I've posted!

I intend to create a product and take it to stations where there none of said product, and it would be helpful if there was a spreadsheet that detailed what stations lacked said product, and what stations said product was abundant in, etc.

Is there one and/or is it possible?

Yes, It is possible.

You can pull orders list for a single item from EVE-Central quicklook api

ex Tritanium:

Parse stations from the API result, and compare against station db to see which stations don't have this single item type available for sale or buy.
However this becomes a huge job when you are doing it for every single item in EVE

My opinion is that it would be better if you only look at limited items and system (or station) at a time.

Here's a sheet I just made for you as an example. This shows T2 modules available in Dodixie FedNavy station.
Copy the sheet, have a look at the functions and modify as you fit.

Also of note, it'll only be as accurate as eve-centrals data. Since eve-central pulls their data from user submissions, the further from a trade hub or route you go, the less accurate the numbers will be.

I was under the impression Eve-Central had advanced and was now pulling straight from the API. That would mean the order info is now at most as old as the refresh rate on the API.

Eve central pulls from crest these days, yes, at least for hubs

Thanks but forgive me I don't quite understand your google docs spreadsheet

I was imagining something a lot more intuitive, like a data entry field where you input the item you want to check and it returns a list of stations A) that the item is available and B) stations that it's not

Can I discern that from the google sheet?

Don't think too much of the sheet I linked. It was made without much thoughts just for example purpose.

Again, what you ask for can be done. The problem is there are over 5000 stations.
Whatever item you input, the results will be grouped into two categories, Available & Not Available station. Each station is in either of the category,, totalling several thousands raws for you to scroll. I don't think that's very useful.

Could you propose perhaps a way which it would be feasible and useful? Perhaps even on a per region or even constellation basis?

attempting to do this will be even more of a pain when the large citadels start dropping as they can have a market too....
