Hi all,

I would love your feedback on an idea that I have been mulling over. I want to create a better application for analyzing a character’s net worth.

We all know that the amount of ISK in your wallet is only a small piece of an industrialist’s true value. I would love to have a simple stacked area graph that can track the total value of a character’s net worth. In theory, the simplified formula would look something like this...

Net Worth = Estimated value of assets + Money in Escrow + Cash

Not only could you see a more accurate picture of how quickly you’re building wealth, but you could dig into more detailed analysis like...

  • Asset liquidity
  • Times you are over-leveraged in margin trading
  • Estimated ISK per hour of gameplay (for estimating progress toward PLEX)

  • Does anyone know if this exists yet? More importantly would it be useful?

There are several, I know of jEveAssets and EveHQ, and some web-based ones too.

    > Asset liquidity

An estimate of how liquid your assets are (or how, based on analyzing data on current and prior market volumes? That would be a neat tool.

    > Times you are over-leveraged in margin trading

This seems more difficult to estimate, since there are no hard and fast rules about how much of a float I should be maintaining. Once again you'd need a pretty smart tool that could calculate on a per-item basis what my volume throoughput is likely to be. Having a margin-based strategy buying high-volume plex is markedly different from lower volume items like say, officer modules, and if you're doing a varied mix of both, it could be tricky to work out.

As for asset evaluators, there are a few available, the one I personally use is called Eve Trader.

Our Corp has something similar built in-house.
    You want to look for:

Cash + In Escrow + In Sell + In Contracts (courier & exchange) + In Hangar (incl.delivery) + In Production

In our case, we exclude from the calculation
    - Fixed strategic stuff: things we will never liquidate
    - Stuff mothballed for a Lost-everything-restart-from-scratch scenario

I think a more accurate formula would be:

Net Worth = Estimated value of assets + Money in Escrow + Cash x (Fabulousness x Amount of Moustachio Wax required every morning)

Perfection is a dish best served like wasabi .

Being a small time market trader, I don't really worry about net worth. As long as my isk overall goes up, I am happy.

The site I built calculates your networth like this: isk in wallet + asset value (this includes everything you own even inside containers, poses etc) + total worth of goods in sell orders + total amount of escrow you have in buy orders.

The price estimates come from within the game (the est. value you see on the bottom right of your inventory).

It's not 100% accurate since unfortunately there's no way to distinguish blueprints from blueprint originals as far as I know. It also doesn't take into account the assets you have on your contracts or PI materials inside pocos or factories but it's a good estimate for the grand majority of cases.

I've made a signature. I hope you're enjoying it. www.evetrademaster.com - web based asset manager & profit tracker

I recently started your site and it is the best one I have dealt with and now use it. Thanks for making it!
