It's probably been brought up before, but what about Faction ESS? It would be nice to have an alternative way to get LP for Pirate Factions. Like anything faction, it should be shiny and an investment, however, it should supply some nice benefits. I haven't worked much with ESS, but it would be pretty cool to have an alternative way to gain some LP and traveling to the LP store of your faction would likely generate content! Just a thought.

No. Ratters ratting their little black hearts out in far flung edge of Cobalt Edge should not magically be able to get Sansha LP by dropping a random structure.

Could always make it so it's local rat assigned. It's just a thought to be elaborated on.

Maybe something like "-Your Local Faction Rats- have defected from -Local Faction-, you will be rewarded for the extermination of the traitors." Something like that.

I would only be in support of this if they would rebalance the ESS; i.e. it can't be anchored inside a fully spawned anom, surrounded by decloaking cans and drag bubbles. If the ESS had been better balanced in a way that it must have been anchored at "x spot" in system and could not have any cans, bubbles, etc within 200km, well then we could talk about introducing new variants. As it stands now, the whole system is flawed.

If those were fixed, I would be opposed to introducing faction variants because they would completely destroy the LP stores; however I would be in support of a T2 variant that rewarded higher LP values. It would take more effort to get the payout working at the max levels, but in return the payout would be better.

Let me rephrase your idea so it is easier to understand.

Please CCP give me an "easy" button (yes like the one from the TV commercials) that will allow me to make even more LP / ISK with even less risk and even less effort.

Damn and people complain about the entitled attitude of mission runners in high sec.

Just so my position on this is clear.

I was looking for interesting ways to make LP, your negative input is counterproductive. There are ways to balance that, like for one you could go out and try and take down the ESS. I was looking for engaging ideas, not negative criticism. My reason for even putting an idea up is because I like this game. Clearly not everybody's favorite idea, that doesn't mean you couldn't contribute your opinion in a tone that's more productive to thought creation then to degradation.

Your job: Present and defend your idea

our job: point out every single way that it is utter crap

you can then see if it's fixable

I think the anom spawn thing is kind of cheap. However, the the cans and drag bubbles are pretty normal nullsec mechanics. So trash the anoms yeah, but as far as cans and bubbles I don't think that should change. ESS are supposed to be juicy looking. And to the people in their system, supposed to be something worth protecting.

I'm curious if you would elaborate on your T2 idea. How would you adjust the modifiers to accomidate for the added isk investment?

If you spend too much time looking for the crap, that's all you'll ever see. Roll However, there is already a post that put a better idea out there. So, enough wasting time on game community nihilism and back to the whole, junk the faction. Maybe roll with T2 instead.

I haven't used an ESS in quite a long time, but I remember them taking sometime to build up the respective reward level. The T2 variant would just take longer, i.e. more rats must be killed, to reach the higher reward level cap, but the overal effect would mean players were out in space longer; read "more risk", to get a higher final payout; read "more reward", at the end of the day. It would also mean roamers have a better chance of getting the locals to come out and play.

You could even play with the timers for distributing and stealing the bounties and LP. I would say shorter timers for both? Again, higher risk but higher reward.
