I'm looking to learn solo frigate pvp in an active FW Low Sec region. I've been in Ishomilken system since few weeks but there isn't enough pilots to have regular fights. I find myself roaming around looking for targets with not much success. I'm on the USTZ.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

In your sidebar, under the "social" menu, there will be a factional warfare choice in the drop box. Click that and it will list all of the systems and the level of contestedness for them.

Then right click on and interesting one, set destination, and pick up some fights on the way.

Open up the "world map control panel" on your solar system map and go to "sovereignty -> factional warfare -> all militias" to show all the FW systems. Then just set a route through them and check each system's complexes for targets. It's a great way to hone your dscan skills.

Oh, these instructions are for the old map, which you can enable by unchecking the "try the new map" option in your escape menu general settings. I don't use the new beta map because it's.....well I don't use the words which would really do it justice. Maybe someone else will come along and give you instructions for it if you prefer.

For what it's worth I found several fun fights in short order in Kourmonen today, which is in the Amarr/Minmatar FW zone, so pretty far from Ishomilken. But you can find fights anywhere in either zone, just fly around a bit and loiter in a plex if there are promising targets on dscan but they aren't already in one. IIRC things get quite a bit busier near Heydieles/Old Man Star and Tama in the Caldari/Gallente zone because they're border systems near Dodixie and Jita. However, it's often better to find a bit quieter system for solo pvp because it's easier to tell when you're being blobbed (local spike!) or if your opponent has links, etc.

Join us in the insurgent Minmatar Militia and you will get more fights than you can shake a space-stick at. "Honoruburu" 1v1s do happen spontaneously, but many of us would be happy to duel you for teaching purposes.

Are you sure? because I can shake my space stick at an awful lot of things.

Thanks for your replies.

By studying the Caldari VS Gallente FW map, I reach the conclusion that Rakapas would be a good home system for my PVP. The surrounding systems seems to be very active. If you see this young girl flying arround (Ersz), plz say hi since that's my PVP pilot.

I did consider joining a corp, but I'm afraid it will simply reduce the number of available targets. Would you agree with that?

Only issue I see with basing in Rakapas is potentially resupply issues; not sure how stocked Nenna is these days, it used to be rather good, though with the traditional low sec markups.

Fastest routes to resupply after a pop, assuming you havent prestocked Rak with a decent pile, would be Jita way via Tama (campy camped) or longer if you avoid it, and Dodixie via Villore or Allamotte. Not insanely far, but far enough that you now have a 20 minute round trip on resupplies..
