Entosis: Drones not Modules

I say make those entosis drones so as not to bore entosis pilots to death.

Let entosis users still fight but on a short leash (entosis range + drone range). Maybe the entosis drones anchor or orbit the control point being contested at close range.

Drones versus modules does mean entosis advantage per pilot is more by ship type than size. The strongest entosis users (carriers) would hold a limited advantage of scale over subcap players. And that entosis drone use would still severely affect the combat utility of the strongest entosis drone users. But entosis users would have more dynamic and flexible options as to their commitment to entosis over regular combat. Specifically pilots could switch from combat effectiveness to entosis contest based on driving the opponents from the field of battle -- without needing to go refit somewhere .

CCP could rule that entosis effects do not scale up to fighter sized drones.

"The intensity and speed of computations, focused spread spectrum communications, and generated heat limit the maximum entosis influence that can be concentrated at any one point. Additionally the entosis field affects tend to flow into currently used hull and armor materials like a waveguide causing any mulitple sources within one ship to destructively interfere with each other's effects even when additional entosis structures are not powered up. Effectively entosis source points must be separated by 250m of open space.

Thus recent success in miniaturization of entosis generation gear and insight by Duvolle Laboratories scientist Ibore Ezly led directly to realization that drones are the only proper entosis platform. A big additional benefit being the ability for pilots of different ships types to share use of different class entosis generation gear if their ships can field multiple sized drones, to deploy flexible numbers of such entosis generation platforms, and even optionally carry some spares.

Unfortunately the physical limitations above limit entosis drones to 3 sizes: light, medium, and heavy. Fighter sized drones cannot carry stronger entosis fields and it has been deemed cost ineffective to place a heavy drone strength entosis field into a fighter sized drone due to other limitations placed on self-defense performance.

Additionally early release reports include reports of disturbing signature radius increases and some unconfirmed reports that certain EW attacks can cause malfunction or incapacitation of entosis drones. More later if these reports are detailed and confirmed. "

Suggest CCP make the cost of entosis drones very high -- especially larger ones with stronger field.

One wild guess at possible strengths and costs (highly subject to revision by wiser heads). Costs being based mostly on normal stable prices and less on more specialized volatile parts which are still necessary but initially at least lesser portions of total cost)

Light = 1 entosis point...........5M ISK
Medium = 3...........................25M ISK
Large = 10..........................100M ISK

The point of this particular pattern is that many pilots will be highly reluctant to abandon entosis drones just to ensure their ship is never at any real risk. Drone costs will tend to inspire commitment unless the ship is sandbagging its true entosis potential (e.g. 5 5 heavy entosis drone potential but only 3 light entosis drones out).

Nope.

Entosis has various drawbacks, your entosis drones have none.

So entosis drones would make carriers the best for this?

Also why can't you fight and entosis now? Last I looked or didn't shut your guns off

Besides I like how a day one player has just as much an effect on this as anyone else your done idea takes away from that
