Hi Gangs.

I've been poking into some wormholes and had one run that netted 20M. Did not have to fight sleepers. I know that's small rubles for most of you, but it was fun for me.

I'm using an Astero because never fly anything you can't afford to lose. I do own a Stratios, but I'd like to get used to WH's before risking it.

1. How do I identify the class of the WH (C1, C2, C3...)

2. Is there a way for me to know if I will be facing sleepers in a particular WH? I would like to avoid fighting Sleepers and just be able to hack and run before Johnny Leet PVP uncloaks and torpedoes me.

There are many ways. You can acually know before you jump into a WH what C lvl it is before you do so. If you are interested in all that read up on it. The easy answear is use a WH identifing web site. Like :

You are looking for the NS data and relic sites that where added to WH space a bit ago. They will allways have a pirate faction in the name. Guristas .... serpentas... whatever you are good there will be no baddies.

Unless it is a Ghost site which are super rare... which shows up as a data site now ... and you will die.... that being said I have made 4.3 billion out of one ghost site before ... so mabye train into a ship that can do it.

I've done a ghost site in the high sec before. I understand how the timer works. The very first time I found one I was surprised to watching my shiny new vexor melt. :-( But Eve is a brutal teacher.

Well ... as the the ghost sites the mini hacking game is the hardest in the game right now. And whene the cans blow up they BLOW UP if you are not tanked for it it will one shot your ship.

Johnny leet pvp... Lol, nice one.

If you're into hacking, you should max your skills in the relevant fields first. Also google eve survival and check the info on sites there.

To build a little more on your initial questions. Once you find out the wormhole class you're in you can adjust your sleeper threat level accordingly. In general though Higher class = Harder sleepers but also higher payout.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.
