go into CQ, look at the abck of your enck, all down your character's spine there are matrix-style jack-in USB ports, the "hardwiring" for jacking into the ship is attached to your central nervous system through these, as for implants, they are just that, IMPLANTS, as in INTERNAL... they are below the skin adn bone interfacing directly with your brain and nervous system to help your body operate your ship more effectively depending on what type of implant it is, NOTHING is external, because it doesnt need to be and lore wise would be a vulnerability.

My guess: The Hardwirings are on you spine; that's what you see when you take you're shirt off and look at the back of your character.
