Citadel Pod SKINs should be tied to having active structure in corp

Upwell and Palatine Pod Skins

Pod SKINs just unveiled on SISI. There hasn't been mention how these will be obtained or if they can be traded on the market (however, seeing the ISK trade icon on the SKIN menu indicates CCP did plan to make licenses transferable).

I'd like to see CCP take a different approach and prevent their trade on the market. Instead make Pod SKIN licenses only accessible to a player if their corporation has a particular structure anchored.

For example:

M-Citadel: No access
L-Citadel: No access
XL-Citadel: Access to Upwell Pod SKIN
Palatine XL-Citadel: Access to Palatine Pod SKIN

If a corporation has their only XL-Citadel destroyed, all corp members have their Upwell Pod SKIN license revoked and the pod reverts back to normal colors.

Excessively arbitrary limitation on a cosmetic item, without a good gameplay or lore reason. Not supported.

Not that either of the new skins are as fabulous as my Golden Egg which I "employ" a small Minmatar family just to polish.

Probably will be offered through that Citadel's LP stores, in addition to the Upwell armor and clothes. Should be a nice way for Citadel occupants to earn a nice bit of ISK.

I like that system better than limiting it through whether a citadel is active in corp. The LP store on an Palatine Citadel would be mighty desirable (if it offers an LP store and Upwell doesn't just blanket reward gold items to the first corporation to build a palatine citadel).

It sure is fabulous, but I have my doubts CCP is going to keep it rare much longer (i.e. only available with the Second Decade Collectors Box). Looking at the sales they do on the Serenity with the Gold Pod, they may start bundling it with other plex/aur offers for Tranquility users in the future.

Not a problem as far as I'm concerned. The more fabulous the playerbase the better. As long as they don't make it super cheap.

My issue with the OP's was that access to the skins would be strictly limited to people belonging to a corp with the specific level of citadel up. If the option was instead "Single use skins available only for purchase at this level of citadel" I'd be fine with it. Since that doesn't restrict it so that the only way to have the skin is to belong to a specific corp.

I can get on board with that LP store. Really looking forward to the 'gold rush' scramble when someone finally opens a Palatine station in a year.

Just as a note, you know that the current estimated price to construct a Palatine Citadel is a bit over 200 Trillion isk, right?

Yes, making these gold pods potentially all the more valuable.

Kinda makes my EVE Collectors edition seem that less valuable. ;)
