How exactly could I better guess this one?

Both overlap the red structure. One description says it is a "small and diffuse structure" , the other says "single or double spots that overlay the center"

So what exactly is the difference between the two? Can anyone help me better understand what I should be looking for?

That image is very clearly the Microtubule organizing center, the Centrosome's are much smaller, and a clear point (or double point).

On that image the green stained areas have variances in the intensity of the green, centrosomes will not have this variance.

That one looks pretty obvious, but I have had some that appeared to have both. Some cells had a very clear double dot, and then others had a diffuse green area that looked like organizing centers. Next time I run across one of those I will post an image.

What these gentlemen in the fascinatingly fine threads said.

The training image for centrosome looks like a green circle or two, with crisp boundaries.
