The Northern War

There's a lot going on tonight as I type this abit to give my perspective of the on going conflict in the North. I had been following all of the developements thru all sources and decided to finally jump in with the Money Badger Coalition and head to the warzone myself.

Joining up with Spectre Fleet and getting on comms it was very apparent that everyone was pumped up, excited, and we headed into staging sytems ready to rock and pew pew. Flying an Interceptor set up as fast tackle I was able to join my fellow comrades and we took off into nulsec.

I even told them I wanted to die in a glooooorius ball of fire was my dream as I fought along side of them and yes I did die gloriously!

As you know, this is going to be a long protracted conflict, it will take hundreds, if not thousands of capsuleers fighting a long standing enemy. The mounting casualties and loss of ships will surely outpace the last war of B-R two years ago. Will history repeat itself? Or will it become a whole new chapter in the ongoing fight for survival?

Only time will time.

Spectre Fleet, huh? You weren't by chance part of that fleet we happened to encounter just now?

Yes, that seems very true.

No I wasn't, I had actually been in an earlier fight during the day. I was really surprised tho that considering it had been over a year since I last flew in a fleet providing logi support how much effort and planning goes into something of this magnitude. It was really fun and that's what counts.

Fun? In Eve Online? WTF is going on here?

Eve isn't supposed to be fun, you fools!!!!

Now get back to your grinding and blueballing and worshipping ISK and stats while all hating each other.

What's this game coming to?

All the focus and spotlight in the north, and down where I live in southern New Eden it's all sunny and green ratting pastures and stuff. Kinda weird!

New players need to read this post.

Good for you. You saw something that looked fun, jumped in with both feet, and now you are a part of history. Bravo Zulu OP

Max

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never. Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.

Thank you Max! I had been playing Eve for quite some time and since my return some time ago as I mentioned I had been in fleets before in Providence doing logi, so I already had some experience under fire already under my belt. And yet still I will return to the front over the coming weeks to fight and to have fun.

Thus far this is NOT boring to be able to jump in with both feet again to go and become a piece of history, this is by far a way that we ALL are shaping Eve into an unknown future ahead of us. The future is now as we sit and watch the events unfold in real time before us, we see what is yet to be as each day passes of skirmishes being fought and in and of it self it will turn into an all out war.

And I agree Max, new players need to read this, they can see that it doesn't matter, they can train up to ships they desire to fly and go join in on history in the making. And stand tall and proud knowing that they helped make history never before told until now.

With the correct guidance one could be in an interceptor with tackle in a month, inject a plex worth of skills and you could have decent tackle pilot in the same time.

Given the modest price of skill injectors right now, it may be worthy investment given the need for pilots on both sides.

I see this as a good thing for Eve, new people bring more diversity to a really great gaming community. I applaud you OP on your ambition.

GL in the future.

It is disappointing that the grand Imperial strategy boils down to 'Wait it out and hope they get bored'. It is quite a change - how the mighty have fallen.

Hey, it worked for the Romans (sort of) ... until they themselves got bored and civil war(s) led to their downfall. These are exciting times indeed.

This post is me predicting that the people who want 'content' are going to come off second best to the people who want to win.
