Currently sitting on 98.1% and still going up. At this point it's takin 2 evaluations to gain another 0.1 percent. I'm curious as to how accurate other players are on Project Discovery.

It's a rating, not an accuracy average. So as long as you are more than 50% right on the test samples, it will go up and keep going up over time.

Quite aware that's how it works, which is why I mentioned how many evaluations it takes for me to gain another 0.1 in rating. This is also why I'm curious as to how far along other players who given the slow rate (i.e. 100 evaluations for the last 0.2 rating before 100).

It's been at 99.0% for a long time on all of my accounts. Seems like an odd cutoff, why not make it 99.9% or something like that?

99.0%

Like a boss.

I may have spent a bit too much time on it though, just look at what it has done to me!

The cytoplasm must flow.

It's so that they can pretend it's a percentage accuracy, when really it's a rating system (most people probably don't even have 90% accuracy, let alone 99.9% or 100%).

Honestly, could be a temporary system until they think of a better way to measure accuracy.

I'm quite proud that I reached the 99.0% limit before they did away with the consensus ratings. Big smile God that was arduous, with a torrent of cytoplasm spam constantly threatening to drag it back down.

After the accuracy patch, everyone will get to 99% eventually. Everyone is happy. That's good.

Then again, not everyone is cut out for Science.. This project while fun for many needs to be taken a little seriously. It is a RL endeavor as much as a mini game.

I appauld those individuals who have attained greater than 90%.

I think what Project Discovery needs is Mission involvement as well. You run missions collecting specimens related to Capsuleer incidents involving crimes where you have to piece together DNA sequences to put the puzzle together.

I also think that Missions involving Drifters would also be interesting. Drifter Missions would involve traveling into the Worm and capturing a Drifter Pilot. From that point on you have so many hours to examine and return your finds to the agent based on what the agent needs you to examine. For example your agent needs you to study the Drifter brain where you are looking for a certain type of micro implant hidden deep in the fibers of the neural network. The only images that the agent has available are cards with twenty different micro capacitor looking things that you have to match up accordingly.

Don't assume.

They have more than 200,000 samples, judging by the numbers. The people they have that are "cut out for Science", and those of us trying to "take it seriously" aren't even going to make a dent, if we take half an hour per sample to give each sample the serious attention it deserves.

They must have had a reason for making this available to a GAMING community of however big our playerbase is (100k?). The Project Discovery website that I keep linking has the ability to filter out the red, green, and blue channels much like the in-game window, so obviously they didn't have to go through an in-game interface for technical reasons.

They just need us monkeys to push the buttons. Many, many times. It's about the number of people making the choices, not about the accuracy.

Every time I see calls to "take it more seriously", I immediately think "ok, I can treat it seriously like a RL job, but where's my RL pay?" and stop playing it.

Since they did away with the consensus rating, my accuracy went from 53% to 92% now..
I refused to pick cytoplasm every time :p

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.
