Steam user, how to run Eve without Steam??

Hi, I presently log on to Eve via Steam, but I want to log on without loosing my character details for Eve.

How?

Download new launcher, install it, launch it deirectly. Forget Steam.
Also you can just run an executable that is located in Steam folder.

?? but what do I put as my username/pw???

i.e, if I buy aurum, I have to log onto Eve using my Steam Account.

thats exactly how I log onto the forum here, what I want to do is log into Eve independently of Steam,
i.e. go to Test server
