Use ISK? People in this game want ISK. Or offer money outside the game, if that's allowed by EULA (no idea if it is).

But why should CCP create an ingame item for it?

And what are you expecting? Organizers "apply" for the tokens and then what? Get them for free?

B. Selling Items and Objects

You may not transfer, sell or auction, or buy or accept any offer to transfer, sell or auction (or offer to do any of the foregoing), any content appearing within the Game environment, including without limitation characters, character attributes, items, currency, and objects, other than via a permitted Character Transfer as described in section 3 above. You may not encourage or induce any other person to participate in such a prohibited transaction. The buying, selling or auctioning (or any attempt at doing so) of characters, character attributes, items, currency, or objects, whether through online auctions, newsgroups, postings on message boards or any other means is prohibited by the EULA and a violation of CCP's proprietary rights in the Game.

EULA says no.

Just offer isk prizes...

I don't *think* the EULA actually prevents offering a cash prize since you're not actually selling anything...but it feels close to the mark.

but what would I know, I'm just a salvager

If you accept isk or any in game products for an entry fee it does, because then you are selling cash for isk.
So if you ran a totally free entry tournament with a cash prize, you 'might' get away with it under the rules. But anything else will hit RMT rules.
Additionally any 'support' like this would just result in a million tournaments suddenly being run to get the tokens to cash out isk for real money. So.... Yea not going to happen.

I am reasonbly certain that...

- it is against the EULA

- it would involve the "tax men" in everyone's respective country. And things get REALLY dicy when those people are involved.

- (people will probably diagree with me on this) involving real money as a prize turns what is a game into VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS. And people are already pretty serious about EVE.

If this happens, the idea of taxing game money as real money income is going to show back up in in legislative chambers.
If that happens, MMORPGing might get a lot more expensive.

i've been organizing arranged fights and small tournaments lately, I noticed that adding a bigger prize pool makes a tournament so much more interesting to capsuleers.

- To take this concept even further, I would like to make a request that CCP supports ingame organizers by giving them some sort of "tokens" that could be converted either into ISK or into USD, the organizers would give them out as tournament prizes.
- organizers will have to apply to get their hands on those tokens.

I think this could be a good way to spark the competitive scene in the game because capsuleers will have a career path which is sustainable, accessible, viable, and fitting with the style of the game

Yeah, let's make CCP into a bank so they can be regulated like a bank...in every country they do business.

What a horrible idea.

No.

Well since YOU earn the income not CCP, it would get alot more expensive for YOU, not necessarily CCP.

Of course, you might be considered an employee of CCP which could come with additional regulatory requirements.

No, this is such a horrible idea the OP should be shunned forever.
