Yes, this beautiful radiation!

Now you can do it CCP!

You have the stars in the game and they emit the radiation! You can call it space radiation which suits well in your submarine simulation!

What does this radiation do?

Well, it kills your electronics!

What that means?

That means that your ship will DE-CAY!

OMG!

Yes!

So my ship gets OLD?

YES!

MWHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!

I would like to think by 20-30 thousand years of rebuilding civilization even before eve that the problem as been solved, and the ISS has been in space many years and it doesn't have that problem.

now some of the weapons like some missiles are considered nuclear missiles, but that would be more of an emp/radiation but still...

so no

One would assume a culture that has warp drives, FTL communication, jump gates, cloning and a way to transfer a persons consciousness over a distance of several light years in the blink of an eye also has a way to shield their electronics from solar winds.

I don't know, the whole "in the future" thing sounds great until you realize that you have to dock in a station to talk to a missions agent (rather than just make a call from your space ship). Yep, New Eden has faster than light space ships...but they forgot to re-invent cell phones.....

Well during atmospheric testing of nukes, some satellites did get damaged by radiation. When X-rays hit lead it's converted into a kind of radio wave (laymans viewpoint here, I mainly just salvage lead from demolished doctors offices and turn them into bullets) and some decay of the lead occurs in that process.

But spaceborn systems intended for long term operation are better shielded.

That seems to be more of a culture than a technology thing. You can talk to your agent even undocked, but he'll just say "Sounds great, drop by so we can formalize the contract" or something along those lines. So, the agents just don't want to make a contract over the phone. And some epic arc agents allow handing in/taking on missions remotely, so it's technically possible.
