It is not so much the animation, but after the anomation is over the text (pilot/ship name) stays, when the icon is already gone and that causes the moving of the other targets to be delayed.

Animation is too elaborate & distracting, it could be changed to a single " X " icon splat on the locked target, hold that for a few frames no flashing, please.

The flashingt actually causes a delay in reassigning guns that were on the target that just died. Is that deliberate? Kinda hope not - sometimes those split seconds in (re)applying damage in a fight matter. In fact, a lot of times!

So, CCP, again I appeal to you to revert the ridiculous death symbol nonsense in the name of not scewing up gameplay. You did it for the gong, now 'fess up and fix this nonsense too.

And while you are at it - please sort out why a bunch of people have just been kicked off and cannot reconnect ... Easter Sunday morning ... see issues and workarounds ...
